I’ve been using the My Heritage software, but decided to see if I could get a nicer data view from Family Tree Maker. The install was very easy, and I opened the app to begin entering my data. I thought I would be able to import from the other app, but I can’t find a way to do that, so I have to enter everything by hand again. I have a lot of data, so this is going to take me a good deal of time, but because of other glowing reviews, I will do it.

First time I’ve gotten software that simply had a card in the box with download instructions. The instructions were pretty clear, and I had no problems, but there were far more steps than I expected. Took a good half an hour to install. Since then, it has been running quietly. I’ve had no issues with viruses since starting using it, and no messages that it encountered anything, so I can’t address how well it does.

I was a little leery of an app that promises so much, but I can say I am very pleased with this so far. It installed easily, though it took a while, but then the user interface was fairly intuitive, meaning I could get right to checking it out. So far, I have streamed movies and watched you tube videos. Still sorting out the audio, but from what I have managed so far, the quality is excellent.

Need to network computers on different floors? This product can be used as a bridge or as an interface for an individual machine. All I had to do was take the units out of the box, plug them in to the power line and the Ethernet switch (using the supplied patch cable), and it all worked right away. Just a word of warning, though; you can’t plug these into a surge protector (including any surge protector inside a power strip.
