If Microsoft and Apple are going to force us to buy Word, can’t they at least make the program work without being so damn buggy? Word’s persistently bossy auto-formating and general kloodgy bugginess has been going on for years and years – why is this still the case?? These people are making gazillions of dollars off this stuff, so why can’t they get the basics right and stop driving customers batty?

————————————————–nWordPerfect Office X5 Standard Suiten————————————————–nI first worked with WordPerfect as an office drone in the early 1990s, and grew used to its quirks and capabilities… I’m happy to report we’ve come a long way, baby! This software suite includes the current version of WordPerfect (gloriously unbuggy compared to the old days!) as well as a number of new tools suited to the digital/multimedia landscape of today. It packs a lot of wallop - more than I need, but I’m enjoying checking the various programs out, and find the usability and ease of installation to be quite nice.

I use it just for basic accounting for my bank accounts. Does a nice job with charts and reports, if you like that sort of thing. I’ve used this version for about 2 years. Nice software.

Good as ever. Reliable and dependable, and fairly quick. It seems I’ve used TurboTax forever.

Norton Small Business - 5 Device is a very good security solution if you have a small business or need to protect multiple devices. Basically it is just Norton Internet Security marketed for small businesses. At around $20 to protect each device, it’s a good deal too. The box only contains a code so you need to download the actual software. I installed the software on 4 different devices. 2 PC’s running Windows 8.

Garmin needs to realize that most GPS units no longer sell for $500+. I used to update my maps every year on my modest Street Pilot C330, but it no longer makes any sense. I can sell it on eBay and pick up a new unit, with new maps, for less than what Garmin sells their map updates. $50+ for a map update might have been reasonable a few years ago, but GPS prices are a fraction of what they once were.
