The best price I could find for this newest version of Quicken was an Amazon download. I’ve been a Quicken users for years, and usually upgrade with every new release. I’ve read the negative reviews here, but for $37 I thought it was worth the money. True, there aren’t a lot of major features in this year’s release – perhaps the biggest improvement is that backups are now just one file rather than multiple files.

This product is not perfect, and I had a few issues that I will get into farther down, but for now let me say that I was able to import my family tree from an earlier, circa 2003, version with no loss of data.
Pros:n- installed without issue on Windows 7 64 bitn- imported earlier version without loss of datan- plenty of ways to explore and output/display you family treen- includes free trial of Ancestry.

I have been trying out a number of Corel products over the past year and cannot help but notice the trend simplicity, limited power (Corel Painter excepted, some true power utility there) or incompatibility with industry standards. [As a note, I am approaching this from the reference point of a prior career as a software engineer.]nnWith this product I had hoped to consolidate some of my disparate products that Corel had acquired over the past few years (PaintShop and ULead Video, mostly).

I have reviewed a number of products over the years for virus protection and general security. My major concerns tend to be in order: does it work (is it actually catching anything?), system resource usage (when active and in background), memory footprint (how much of my system memory does it use) - both of the last bear directly on the impact on other program performance - and lastly ease of customization.

I have taken a number of classes to learn a variety of languages, and have forgotten most of them all. Learning on the computer has been a new and fairly positive experience for me. The package comes with a number of elements: the base software, the particular language elements to plug into the base software, audio companion CDs for review offline and a USB headset/microphone.
Installation is a two part process, 1) install the base software, 2) install any language element tiers.
