Norton AV 2009 has been getting rave reviews, and with good reason. It is a much improved product over previous versions, and runs ‘in the backround’ without noticeably slowing down your PC while you’re web surfing or performing other tasks. I have it running on my HP ‘Mini’ series 1035 netbook, and I have not noticed any slowdown in any computing tasks including Wi-Fi web surfing. If I truly wish to nitpick, I would ask that Symantec include a ‘progress bar’ and an ‘elapsed time indicator’ on it’s scan display as an update or in future versions.

Panda Free Antivirus 2015 was just rated the BEST free antivirus by PC Magazine, and several impartial Information Technology testers on YouTube! Detection and elimination rates are very high, and in some cases, perfect! I have also read that this cloud-based Panda product outperforms many commercial antivirus software suites that one has to pay for! In my specific case, I was getting sick and tired of paying a rapacious yearly renewal fee for my Norton360 antivirus (about 90 dollars!

I had a malicious ‘worm’ virus attack embed itself in my PC recently, so I had ‘Geek Squad’ fix the problem after my Windows XP system went ‘haywire’ and became unusable. I have cable broadband and my ‘Norton’ anti-virus package let me down. The ‘GS’ technician highly recommended I delete ‘Norton’ and go with the ‘Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0’ package, which offers total protection on so many levels (firewall, anti spyware, anti pop-ups, anti virus).

What a pathetic O.S.! I still have to use mine, because I have certain hardware and software that require me to use Vista on one of my 2 main PC’s in the house. I often get system crashes, hang-ups, slow-downs, error messages, etc.! It is truly pathetic. I really LIKE this O.S. for it’s simplicity, BUT with all the problems i’m having, I can’t accomplish much! If a Microshaft executive is reading this, how about some Windows updates fixes and modifications that will make my Win Vista system work better!

I’ve seen and heard many focus use QB for years, but it wasn’t a fit for us. First, our financial software needs are pretty simple and so we don’t leverage the additional functionality that this software offers…consequently, there’s a lot of stuff that’s just sort of in the way. Second, though I tried and tried, I couldn’t figure out how to transport our old financial data (from a Microsoft product) into this application.

I’ve used Norton security products for PCs before, and I’ve just started using it on our Macs.
My Norton experience on PCs (of a couple of years ago) was mixed. The machines didn’t have virus issues, but they seemed to get bogged down with Norton scans and such. Full virus scans could only happen when I didn’t need to do anything else with the machines as they become unusably slow.

I appreciate that the software came with a USB drive as our Mac Mini doesn’t have an optical drive. The install process was smooth and quick via the USB drive.
The application seems to be installed properly and run smoothly, but I just can’t get a virtual machine to operate properly. It seems to going…and then I get the blue screen of death. Every time.
It’s likely user error, but I can’t figure out how to fix it.

I’ve had Bitdefender Total Security 2010 on a couple of my machines (a home machine and a work machine) for several months now, and we haven’t had any issues.
Bitdefender appears to run smoothly and stays in the background for the most part (though there is the occasional yes / no pop-up to respond to), and it very rarely becomes a system drag during normal operation.
The file-by-file virus scan does drag the system down, but no worse than any other virus protection product that I’ve used.
