I purchased this software, after reading reviews that spoke highly of it. After installing it with no problems, I noticed the computer slowed down to a point, where the mouse pointer would not move. After I noticed that the files were done downloading, the cursor would then resume moving. I also noticed that the bootup time was extended from any other software I had used, excluding the Junk software from Norton which either blue screened or crashed the computer.

Installs fine.
Uninstalls fine, after 3 hrs, due to phishing toolbar not working properly and chat room Norton Tech advising me to do so.
Does not reinstall, but gives off error popups.
Talk with Norton Techs on Chat line for 4 separate times, with no luck, besides frustration.
Norton Tech Chat Line is manned by uncourteous, non-mannered, non prepared and unknowledgeable people. I was transfered 5 times from different tech’s on 1 chat call and then hung up on.

I have read the installation instructions for both NIS 2004 and NAV 2004 prior to installation, but still ended up with the same result…junk software. Why is it that I can install any other type of software and it installs and works properly? But if I installed either one of these Norton products, neither works after installation? It can not be the computer or the owner, since I purchased McAfee Anti-Virus 8 and it installs and works fine with no problems.

This is the 3rd time in 5 years of trying out Norton Internet Security for me. Every year prior just wanted to make me scream. I always had a software bug during the installation process, even though my computer is new. After several hours of trying to get 2007 to install, it finally did, but with frequent problems during the usage of it.
But I broke down, after swearing never to use Norton again, and purchased the 2009 version.

The Cyberlink PowerDVD program is notoriously buggy. See the photo? That’s as far as I get when inserting a DVD or Blu-Ray disk. It freezes and stays like that until you remove it from memory, then does it again with a new disk. Buy Version 15 and they want you to upgrade to 16 (for $45). If you have 16, they want you to upgrade to 17 (another $46). They keep you throwing good money after bad that it really adds up.

Installed just fine on my first computer, which already had an evaluation version, as did the other two. Sadly, it wouldn’t install on my other two and getting tech support was futile. This program also adds some extremely annoying software that takes control of your home pages in Explorer or Firefox.

There are so many things wrong with Norton System Works that it’s veryndifficult to know where to begin. But here are three:nn1) ACTIVATION: The most annoying. Companies resort to this becausenotherwise people would be handing disks out to all their friends andnfamily. Norton’s is particularly aggravating and chances are you’ll end up talking to someone at Symantec. If you get the product, install it and don’t think about upgrading your computer.

I bought this for one reason and one reason only: the hope that iMovie had been fixed from the 2008 version to be more like the 2006 version. Didn’t happen. iMovie is now worse than ever. Editing audio files is probably the most frustrating thing I’ve tried in a while. The interface is not designed well, and I found myself looking for features that used to be there (fade out video effect in conjunction with audio fade out) thinking they’ve got got to be there somewhere, and then finding out that they simply don’t exist.

PCMover is supposed to make moving your system from one computer to another as painless as possible. Unfortunately it doesn’t work very well. First off the software is confusing to use, even for a tech savvy person. Second, each end of the transfer cable needs to be plugged in to a specific computer but THE CABLE IS NOT MARKED in a way that lets you know which end is which! I wasted an hour trouble shooting before realizing that I needed to swamp the cable around.
