Let’s see what Microsoft is offering for the money. I am supposed to pay Microsoft 89 dollars so that I can get Windows Media Center which was already included free as part of the operating system in Windows 7.
It is outrageous to charge $89.00 to upgrade your Windows 8 installation (you already paid for Windows 8 in the price of the computer) to Windows 8 Pro. You can upgrade from Windows XP or Windows 7 to Windows 8 Pro for the same price.

Been using TurboTax for some time now. It can be a little confusing at first, but if you stick with it, it will gather all your information and put it where it’s supposed to be. It helps to have last year’s tax return to make sure you have everything the first time you use the program. Then, the following years TurboTax will keep your previous year’s return data and you just update the items that have changed.

Symantec’s, Norton Internet Security, aka NIS, has been around for a while. I have been using Norton Anti-Virus since it was invented, I think. It hasn’t caught every virus, or every malware, or all the other junk that comes my way, but it gets better and better, and in my opinion, I believe it is better overall than any other single program out there.
To be fair, I do use the free programs, Ad-Aware and Spybot Search and Destroy, when I believe I have been to a suspicious site, or that I have been compromised, and NIS hasn’t caught anything.

Okay, I have resisted using Quicken for years. I have worked with Excel to keep my personal and business finances, but after using TurboTax for several years I thought, why not get Quicken and just import everything? Well, I haven’t spent that long with it, but it’s not very intuit-ive (ha, ha, get it?) if you ask me. Naturally, when I get it to work, importing my data should be easier than what I have been doing.

Got Quicken for years now in hopes that I can use it to log everything and just upload to TurboTax come tax time while getting a handle on my financial profile, but alas, I just cannot seem to get things started. Hope you have better luck!

Unlike many other reviewers I have not used any previous editions of this software, but I must say that as a first time user to this software, I highly recommend it. Unlike web based map solutions, it allows you to drag around the map with no lag or loading times (assuming your computer meets the recommended specs).
The software is ideal for small business owners because you can enter a set of destinations and it will map you the most gas efficient route to get to all these destinations.

If you’ve used McAfee in the past, you probably know the annoyances with it. Constant pop ups telling you about everything, even when it shouldn’t be flagged as dangerous at all. Additionally, this software slows down the computer more than Norton. I have a state of the art computer with a quad core processor, and 8gb ram, and I saw a noticeable performance decrease after installing this software, even on my high end computer.
