Corel’s zippy little (literally - it takes up very little in the way of resources) office suite makes me very happy. I primarily use Word to write books, and while Corel’s version isn’t as full of bells and whistles, I don’t miss them when I use it.
What thrills me most is that the suite plays well with MS Office. I can easily switch back and forth between the programs. (I use Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.) Right now I have both MS Office and Corel on the same computer and have begun using Corel’s WordPerfect more often than not because it moves so quickly.
Most of us use Word, and Corel’s processor is WordPerfect. Problem? Not at all; a flick of a button makes it emulate Word.
But what I most look forward to is putting Corel’s suite on a netbook. Frankly, I hadn’t even considered a netbook before trying Corel’s suite, but now that I know I can do my work on such a portable little device and switch between it and the Word with ease, I’m going to watch for a sale. Corel’s Office Suite is perfectly suited to it and I can leave my expensive, heavy workhorse laptop at home, where it’s far less likely to be dropped or stolen.
