Corel refuses to anything about lost documents other than to rename the document. That stinks.
If MicroSoft Word were not so expensive I would have bought the latest Word.
Some of the OpenSource Word Processing programs are closing the gap on big name products. It will be a few years till OpenOffice and Libre Officenare as good. I have been using the Open Source Word Processing programs for a long time.

Corel VideoStudio Ultimate X9 improves on the X8, and adds plenty of features to boot. I’ve been using Corel tools for a long while, I also use Sony tools. (Depends on the computer I’m using.) I like them both, but Corel VideoStudio Ultimate X9 is the go-to when I need to edit quickly. Tons of extra wipes, effects, and does the job quickly.
I’m using a Windows 10 64-bit i7 desktop.

Corel VideoStudio Ultimate X9 hasn’t been very successful for me. I’ve been unable to load it on a ZBook 15 with a Xeon processor. The installation went fine, but the software itself crashes right out of the box. I’ve attempted for weeks now to get it up and running so I could do my review on the product for Corel and Vine, but have been unsuccessful in my attempts.

Corel WordPerfect Office X7 Home and Student software is a great option for your spreadsheet, document and word processing needs at under $100. WordPerfect Office X7 is also compatible with MS office and Windows 7 and 8. The software’s PDF export functionality allows users to turn their documents, spreadsheets and presentations into PDF files, making it simple to share documents with almost anyone. There’s even a Mail Merge Wizard to assist in creating letters and labels, as as well as a WordPerfect app for iPad!

CorelCAD is a good program for beginners. It is easy to install and use, plus the tutorials are very helpful. This program is useful for students and non-professionals. I know there are better programs out there, but for the price this program is great.

CorelCAD is a decent alternative to other pricey companies’ offerings. Being able to do traditional CAD along with having integrated 3D capability at this price point is very compelling.
The layout is familiar and easy to learn, and having full CAD tools and abilities is often needed compared to some of the free alternatives.
These points could be a consideration if you need a full-featured CAD program on a budget, but the free ones won’t do.

CorelCAD is 1/6th the price of AutoCAD. CorelCAD has some of the higher end professional options removed which are present in AutoCAD. Corel is marketing this to professionals who cannot afford AutoCAD such as start-up businesses in architecture or those who do mechanical drawing in 2D and 3D.
I thought this would be fun for my family to learn to use since my teenage son has been using SmartWorks with his FIRST Robotics team.

CorelCAD is a great package for those getting started in computer drafting. CorelCAD offers an easy to use CAD interface that also helps beginners get used to the software. For experienced users, CorelCAD has all the tools and features you have grown accustomed too, and you may be impressed with how fast the software runs. Make sure your computer has the suggested memory and specifications, but CorelCAD runs faster than AutoCAD in my opinion.

CorelCAD is a top of the line software product that is sufficient for professional engineers and designers. I had the opportunity to use this product to design a deck and an addition for one of my homes. I was able to create the level of detail needed by the county to get my designs approved and it also was easy for my crew to work from the plans. My father was a chemical engineer and I let him use the product for a few weeks to get his professional opinion.

CorelDraw Graphics Suite X4 is a very solid program. It does most of what Adobe Illustrator does (vector-based graphic design) and much of what Adobe InDesign does (desktop publishing) in one handy application.
CorelDraw would be an ideal solution for a small business or organization that does a fair amount of advertising-creation and publication design in-house. With one application (well-priced when compared to buying both Illustrator and InDesign), the content creator can achieve very professional results.

Corel tried for a light office suite that would be appropriate for netbooks and machines without much in the way of resources. They created a suite that has the basic functionality and flexibility that consumers have come to expect. It’s nowhere nearly as polished as Microsoft Office, but that is, in part, the point.
However, Corel has to contend with competitors like OpenOffice, which is free. I can’t figure out why someone would pay for this suite when she could get OpenOffice and its equivalent functionality for free.

Corel makes it look like you are getting a good deal because one is getting four products (Paint it, Photo Album, Scrapbook Artist, and PanoramaPlus X4) At first glance one may believe he or she is getting a great deal. Sure the price is more than fair for what you get. The problem I have is the software is not that powerful. You would be better using Google Picasa for organizing and editing your photos.

Corel VideoStudio Ultimate X8 is okay. I did not find it as user friendly as I would have liked. Still working on a short film, which is coming along very slowly. Used help many times. I wish someone would make these kind of programs easy for a non-pro. Unless you are a computer geek pro and understand the language, I’d stick with Windows Movie Maker, which comes free with most computers with Microsoft.

Corel VideoStudio Ultimate X8 installed on my desktop easily without any issues. It has more options for themes, sound, video add ins compared to other video editing software I have used in the past. What I will tell you is this package works extremely well for me and I’ve managed to put together some pretty good looking videos.

For additional information, visit the Corel site videostudiopro.com and click on FEATURES to see the new features in this Pro X8 version, and what features have been enhanced. Tools for learning how to use the software is also available.nI’ve worked with various video editing programs throughout the years including Windows Movie Maker, Sony Vegas, Premiere Elements, Premiere Pro, Premiere CC, and a few others that are no longer made.

Corel does some really good work on their graphics software. It’s not quite as robust on features as Adobe’s equivalents, but the price difference is pretty huge.
I wouldn’t actually recommend this for pretty casual use, because you’ll be paying for a lot of features that go beyond what you really need. You could probably get something for 1⁄4 the price or something that would do fine and you’d have something that’s a little easier to use.

Corel Painter X3 is the most powerful paint program Corel makes and it functions a lot like Photoshop. That’s a good thing. It means not having to relearn many of the tools. The floating palettes, menus and interface should be immediately intuitive to anyone who has used an Adobe product. Buttons and key functionality are even located in the same place on the screen and much of the terminology is the same.

Corel always gives you a lot for your money and this bundle is no exception. If you can spend the time to sort through it all, there’s a lot to discover. Unfortunately, as with many bundles, the installation can have issues, depending on your computer/OS and other factors. It works on some, but not others, and never sure why. The user interface is cluttered and sometimes it’s hard to find or understand the options.

Photo painting transforms a digital photograph into a painting. You just import a photo and click on the auto-paint button, which transfers the image into any specified medium (oil painting, water-color, chalk drawing, etc.

Corel VideoStudio is a great, affordable and user friendly software for editing videos. I’m not very tech savvy and usually find most video editing programs too complicated and too cumbersome to use. When I ordered this it was listed as Photo Editing Software with a description emphasizing the ways it can fix your images. After watching Corel’s introductory video and trying the software, I would classify it as a file management tool that happens to perform editing tasks. In that repect, it is similar to Lightroom. It is not as powerful as Lightroom but it is affordable and does not require a subscription.

Corel used to be a reliable software company producing great software. I think it has matured and is perhaps on the decline because it seems more and more that new innovation is lacking and quality control is not sufficient. You can read the rest of the reviews and see a similar story. Not what it used to be…. I won’t be using this software.

Corel Painter 11 is a somewhat souped-up version of JASC Paint Shop Pro.
I have used PSP 7 for many years while and really like it. Working with graphics is a small part of my regular work. Thanks to a good pal, I found out about PSP while it was shareware and kept up with version upgrades for a while. They were also relatively very inexpensive. Corel bought out JASC and I suppose they have improved the line, but is it a good value?

CorelDraw X5 is a great tool for those who need the power but do not require the professional features of the higher models. Corel continues its impressive series of high performing graphics suite with this version X7. As usual, the flagship product is the immensely powerful vector drawing program, CorelDraw. It is intuitive to use but comes with a comprehensive help file that does an excellent job of explaining the major topics. It is always available directly on the interface.nAdded to this are the (now) great number of videos and tutorials available online. Time was, a search on YouTube provided not many results (as compared to some other suites).

Corel’s Photo Express is a bear on system resources for not much in return.nIf you’re a basic user without the need for intensive photo editing, just a touch up here (red eye removal, etc.) then uploading this to the photo sharing sites, this is the tool for you. Not much else to recommend it except for perhaps the nice interface.nCorel’s other graphics editing packages are a much better deal functionally; skip this one.

Corel VideoStudio PRO X8 is designed as an easy to use, basic video editor for Windows 8 and 7 on PCs. It works very similar to other basic to mid level video editing programs that exist today. In general, you select the clips you want to use in your movie and then drag and drop them into the timeline in the order you want them shown. As desired, you can move clips around, arranging them into different sequences.

Corel Studio has the best preview of any product I’ve ever used for organizing digital photo files; that said, however, I really prefer the more powerful editing options of PhotoShop and end up using Corel to look at my photos, but Photoshop to edit them.
It’s quite possible that the newer version of the software has improved on the editing options; if you’re considering buying the older version of Corel Studio at a bargain price, however, unless you primarily want software for organizing and viewing your photos, you’re probably better off shopping around for a used copy of Photoshop.

It is generally not hard to install, though some systems may have programs installed that interfere, so it’s best to close out everything else that is running before starting the installation. Corel has trod a long and rocky road. Way back when, Corel was a pacesetter, its CorelDraw product at the head of the pack. The company was led by a flamboyant entrepreneur who, with his glamorous wife, were regulars on the local high society scene. They are long-gone from the company. Since the high-flying days, the company has lost its dominant position and sometimes struggled for survival. Product quality and customer service deteriorated and I, along with many others, stopped buying or updating Corel products.

Corel takes the standard set of video editing tools and throws in a 3D converter. 3D is all the rage now, and it really can be nice to create a 3D video from your 2D source material.
Most of the tools here you’ve seen before. You use the timeline to place video clips, add your transitions, filters, etc. When you’re done, it has easy export to YouTube, Facebook, Flickr, etc. Most importantly, with all the HD cameras showing up out there, this offers easy export to BluRay disks.

CorelDraw is quite expansive and a lot to learn, especially when you’re on your own. Thankfully, there’s tutorials offered by Corel and plenty on Youtube. Corel’s included guidebook is a gem! It goes over the different tools you can use. While the hardback book add heft to the package, it is worth it’s weight with the information it carries.

Corel Paintshop Photo Express is marketed as another alternative that lets you edit your personal photos on your computer without having to go to a professional editing place to do so. It’s a little easier to use than Photoshop and the average computer user shouldn’t have much of a problem navigating the software. It does some of the basics that Photoshop can do and gets done what’s needed in most photo edits like red eye reduction, adjusting lighting, and eliminating defects in non digital photos etc.

Corel Painter 11 is a wonderful painting program to release your inner-artist. There isn’t a lot of documentation here, so by all means take a class or buy some tutorial books. This isn’t just a program you can pick up and become proficient with just by casual noodling around. Also, I would recommend getting a Bamboo pend and tablet to take advantage of the brushes and drawing features. Finally, please go to the Corel website and download the patches if you experience any problem with crashes - they will eliminate any instablity issues.

I moved from Adobe’s Captivate, a program I truly enjoyed using, to VideoStudio 11.5 Plus, because of Adobe’s insistence on flash video. I’m finding that it may be easier and quicker to find a good converter program and convert my videos to flash rather than continue to struggle with VideoStudio.
While feature-rich and compatible with many video formats, the documentation for VideoStudio is poor.

Corel WordPerfect Office Suite has always been a great alternative to MS Office, at a much more affordable price. This basic edition is perfect for both home and student use. Your documents can be saved in an MS Word compatible format, so there should be no trouble with compatibility when it comes time to send/receive documents from others. The only disadvantage is the learning curve. Those familiar with MS Office can expect to spend a bit of time learning the ins and outs of the Corel software, but, once accomplished, you will find all of the functionality you will require for documents, spreadsheets and presentations.

Corel have been in this particular game for some time and I’ve been using several of the previous versions of this software to create, edit and sometimes upload film clips that I’ve put together for differing reason with this software.
This isn’t supposed to be a PC equivalent to Mac’s Final Cut Pro or even Adobe’s Premiere software, it is specifically intended for consumer / and sometimes pro-sumer users. I would hedge on the use of the word ‘pro-sumer’ as I imagine that might only happen in an emergency or quick fix.

With a few tutorials that I found online I was on my way to putting together videos of my kids’ birthday parties and family reunions.

Corel PaintShop is a pleasant surprise. I take a lot of pictures on vacations and most of them are pretty easy to clean up. The ones that give me the most trouble are from our scuba diving trips. Close ups are usually ok, but taking landscapes and pictures of my wife usually end up looking like I took them with a blue filter on the camera or they are just really washed out.

Corel’s zippy little (literally - it takes up very little in the way of resources) office suite makes me very happy. I primarily use Word to write books, and while Corel’s version isn’t as full of bells and whistles, I don’t miss them when I use it.
What thrills me most is that the suite plays well with MS Office. I can easily switch back and forth between the programs. (I use Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Corel continues to be the best budget software choice for video, audio and photo editing. The controls are intuitive and online support is great. Corel is a well-established company that has worked on finely honing its products over the years. I own several different Corel packages and they have all been great. if you can’t afford Adobe but want something better than freeware then I highly recommend this product.

Corel VideoStudio Ultimate is basically as pro as you can or need to get, if you’re an intermediate to advanced movie maker. It’s pro enough to where you could edit an actual, moderate budget movie and it would look great. At the same time, it’s easy enough to use that just about anyone familiar with computers can get the basics down in seconds. There’s plenty of advanced features, too, though. I feel I’m a fairly advanced tech guy and I still discover new effects and tools, so there is definitely a lot to learn and play around with.

Corel Word Perfect remains my preferred choice of word processor even though I have 4 others to chose from as well. What makes it superior is you can display ALL of the codes that affect the documents, while Word just assumes the user is to dumb to understand, which creates really annoyance in fixing some accidental mistakes. The applications in the office suite all will easily share document files including most format coding including storing and converting documents to Microsoft Word and other formats.

Corel Draw is the biggest rival to Adobe Illustrator (which still holds the biggest market share for Illustration work in the graphics arts fields). I have experience with both programs and I also happen to like them both. However, you get more bang for your buck with Corel Draw. Coming in around $100 less than Adobe Illustrator, but offers a very comparable set of tools.
