I decided to knock off a star as their marketing claims it’s easy to use. My experience with the product indicates otherwise. That’s not to say it’s worse than the others, but there are some aggravating features you will encounter when using it. It is designed to work on Windows 2000 SP4, XP, and Vista with 150MB of free hard disk space. No comprehensive manual is included in the retail box, just a tiny installation guide with some basics of what the different features do.

Unfortunately, Corel has not yet learned the lessons of consumer behavior these past couple of years. If you want a program with a flashy installation screen, transparent splash screens, 2.3GB of hard drive space taken up and a whopping 32,443 items added to your registry then this is your program. It’s no wonder the system requirements are so steep. As a CD and DVD burner, I see little difference between this and the many other programs out there (including freeware).

Autodesk SketchBook Pro 2010 is quality paint/drawing software designed for use with a graphic tablet and pen. However it will also work with a conventional mouse but getting quality results is more difficult that way. I installed in on a Windows XP SP3 computer along with a Bamboo Tablet/Pen and it works smoothly and with no problems. I also tried it on a Vista Laptop but unfortunately Vista 64 bit is not supported yet so please take note.

I installed Trend Micro AntiVirus plus AntiSpyware on a brand new computer with Windows Vista, the installation was simple and the only thing needed was an update. The program integrated straight into Vista and auto configured without me having to make any adjustments. One of the issues I have is that despite Viruses and Spyware being a real threat, when you buy a new computer you don’t get any really powerful programs to stop them.

The 2013 version of Sage Pro Accounting edition is very different from older/previous versions. The most significant chance is you have to pay to have the tax format tables work. Previous editions of Sage have always given the user the option to enter their tax information manually. This process is moderately easy and once learned is very easy to annually update (and costs nothing). However Sage Pro or any edition of Sage has never been an easy program to pick up and use with ease.
