Corel WordPerfect Office by Amazon Customer
WordPerfect has always been something of a 2nd cousin you know exists, but no one knows much about them. Corel has it’s work cut out for it acting as a middle child between Microsoft Office and the free document suites available, like WordPerfect. I am not sure I would make the jump from X6 to X7 if you already have X6.
After spending a month with the new X7 which is reasonably priced compared to Microsoft’s recent money grab by renting it’s software by the year, still doesn’t stack up when there is a good free option available.

Corel WordPerfect Office by jeanneserenity
WordPerfect Office X7 is a word processing suite that will be instantly familiar to users of Microsoft Office Word. It has the same functions as Word in an easy-to-use package that serves as a solid alternative to Word. My teenager found it quite invaluable when typing up reports and notes for his classes, and it had the capability to save in a format that could also be used by Word.

WordPerfect is great for those who don’t want to take their hands away from the keyboard. And the reveal codes function is great for finding those pesky codes that create havoc in formatting a document. Great price for a complete productivity suite, and fast on older machines.

WordPerfect Office 8 has proven itself relatively intutive and streamlined, from install to daily use. This version of WordPerfect is the first I have used, and the first word-processing software I have used heavily on a PC in some time. I also like being able to work in WordPerfect and export documents that are compatible with the latest version of Word (the docx filetype).
By way of background, I have used Word on PCs in the past, but my heaviest ongoing equivalent use is of Microsoft Office and other programs on various flavors of Macintosh.

WordPerfect and me go back a long way. I used it in the early 1990s and learned enough about it that when version 6 was released I was contracted to write half a book on the DOS version and half a book on the Windows version. I remember that the program was so buggy that within a week they sent me 6.0a, which still didn’t clear up all the faults.

————————————————–nWordPerfect Office X5 Standard Suiten————————————————–nI first worked with WordPerfect as an office drone in the early 1990s, and grew used to its quirks and capabilities… I’m happy to report we’ve come a long way, baby! This software suite includes the current version of WordPerfect (gloriously unbuggy compared to the old days!) as well as a number of new tools suited to the digital/multimedia landscape of today. It packs a lot of wallop - more than I need, but I’m enjoying checking the various programs out, and find the usability and ease of installation to be quite nice.

WordPerfect is a very good product and you simply cannot beat the value. The suite has an amazing amount of quality features for the price point, including WordPerfect X5 (word processing), Quattro Pro X5 (spreadsheet), Presentations X5 (slideshows and presentations), Nuance Paperport 12SE (scanning and imaging), Mozilla Thunderbird (email), and Corel Lightning (digital notebook). There are hundreds of fonts, thousands of clip images (including a couple of hundred photos), about 200 templates, an Oxford English Dictionary, an XML project designer, batch conversion utility (to convert Word documents), and some video training from Brainstorm.

WordPerfect used to be the ugly cousin in the word processing family, but now Corel has brought it to the forefront with the X7 Standard edition.
The main thing I found important is that it’s fully compatible with Microsoft Office 2003 and later. It will read and write to the native MS file format with ease. If you’re wanting to leave the MS world, then you can migrate to WordPerfect without worry.

WordPerfect Office 4X StandardnnThis is a fully functional Office package that rivals and in some cases surpasses MS Office. Each of the programs load more quickly then it’s MS Office counterparts do on the same PC. It installs in less time then MS Office and you are asked less questions during the install.
It can open almost any file including PDF’s but with the documents originally created in MS Office it makes slight format changes and in some cases changes the font style.

WordPerfect is a very good program. It has plenty of features and powerful editing capabilities. WP Office can’t rest on its laurels and massive sales like Office can so it makes it up by pushing the feature set further. In particular, WP is much better at dealing with older documents, including docs from older versions of Office. However, its one drawback is that it isn’t Office and thus there can be incompatabilities with newer formats.

WordPerfect Office X7 Standard is a solid app suite and compares favorably to Microsoft Office Professional. I’ve been using WP for about a month and I’ve been able to do everything that I do with MS Office Pro. The fact that WP’s files are compatible with MS Office is a great feature.
If I were someone who had to use MS Office at work, I’d buy MS Office for home, too.

WordPerfect has a tradition of bringing consistent and reliable performance over the years, and taking improvements seriously as well. WordPerfect Office X6 Home & Student is no exception. The user interface is extremely intuitive so even if you have no previous experience with WordPerfect, you should be able to install it and start using it with a little trial and error. I’ve been using WordPerfect for the past few years and haven’t run into any serious issues.
