Media Expressions Platinum possesses just about everything one would need to manage life’s memories…at least those in video/photo form. The interface is easy to use, even for a relative novice. With this software, one has the ability to create and edit photographic and film projects as well as easily organize and share their work. It really is quite nice for those who don’t have the time or desire to learn more advanced software but still wish to be a little more creative with their images. While the photo focused features are probably only a step or two beyond the software that is included with many digital cameras today, or can be downloaded for free, the video tools justify the cost.
The software is neat; however, it is by no means professional grade. The features are extremely limited and basic compared to the pro-grade tools - but this software does not claim to be a professional suite, and the price reflects this point. Honestly, with the shopping cart almost always looming in the corner of the screen, I feel as if this software has been designed, in large part, to direct aftermarket sales to its affiliate. Nonetheless, for someone who is just trying spice up their media keepsakes while keeping them organized, it is worth the cost.
