I never used tax software before last year. I tried the online Turbo Tax and it was good but when I got the Desktop version for this year, well I was pleasantly surprised at some of the stuff it did.

1. I have a Merrill Lynch account and I can never understand what goes in the taxes and what doesn’t. Well, Turbo Tax went online and collected my account information and put everything in for me… WOWnn2. It has a built in program to help you figure out deductions on contributions of material things, that was a big help.

3. They have an optional small fee if you want to have an accountant check everything after Turbo Tax is done, if just to make you feel better.

All in all, it was a lot easier to fill out than I expected. I had NO idea what was tax deductible and what wasn’t or what section the deductions went into. Turbo Tax does all that for you and has a really good help section if you’re ever not sure. A friend of mine has an accounting degree and HE uses Turbo Tax!
