Review by Truth Teller
First of all, unlike other reviewers, this product installed fine on Windows 7 for me.
I admittedly took awhile to write this review, which is affecting my rating of it. Why? Because after playing with it for a weekend, I never opened it again. What that says to me is that it wasn’t fun or compelling enough to me to keep me coming back.
That said, I did have a fairly positive experience with it and thought it did a good job of allowing me to capture my ancestry. I was rather disappointing that it didn’t show enough of the family tree on the screen at a time. I happen to have a relative who has traced around 3000 people into his FTM and I imported his file (great feature). The only way to get interesting views was to use the somewhat clumsy reports interface, which I found to be a bit slow.
This is almost a 4 star product for me, but again, since I sort of forgot about it after a small amount of use even though I have a definite interest in genealogy it tells me that it was just not quite top knotch.
