The Essentials edition of Family Tree Maker came with everything that we needed to get started discovering our family’s roots. With some planning beforehand, the one-month trial of Ancestry.com was all that we needed to gather that source information. The Family Tree Maker software integrates nicely with the site and then provides lots of easy, step-by-step methods for maintaining, organizing and viewing your results. Several members of our household have tried it out and all indicated that they liked its interface and simplicity. We installed it on Windows 7 with no issues.
