I must be honest - I’m still working my way through level 1. However, the product is the next best thing to having native language speaker tutoring me and is in some ways better. I can use it whenever I feel like picking up a few new phrases and it never gets impatient with me.

Rosetta Stone products are primarily geared towards visual learners, using lots of flash card like memory games. One included extra that I appreciate is the CD pack for audio listening on long drives. Overall the package is an excellent way to learn Japanese and that comes at a price premium.
