Review by Katie Taylor
The very first time I played this game (waaay back when it was first released), I found myself incapable of finishing it because I was just too scared. Please, if anyone scares easily, know this: This is not a scary game. It has it’s wonderful spook elements, but the game overall isn’t terrifying. It’s actually really beautiful. Especially when you start getting near to the end.
To people looking to buy: There is an interesting historical level, the characters are all interesting, the setting is gorgeous (though now you can really tell that the graphics are dated, but that’s ok), and all the loose ends are tied up. Also, you really get an interesting look into the past with this game.
I would not suggest this for people who get bored easily or are impatient because this game does take a bit of digging, and, as the title of this review states, it’s not the most riveting game out there. You are stuck out on Moon Lake, which has a very small population of three people and you at this point. But it does have a lot of places to unlock, which is something I like in my games (finding new areas as the game progresses, rather than everything being handed to you upfront). Not that games that don’t have secret passages aren’t as good, they can be great too. I just get a little tingly ‘I’m an adventurer’ feeling when I find places that no one has seen in decades (or centuries, in some games). It’s those little moments that make this such a great game.
