I’ve used Quickbooks primarily over the last 10 years+, so I was excited to try out Sage 50 for my wife’s new small business accounting.
Overall, I really like the fact that Sage 50 puts much more information on the screen at one time. For example, when you go to the employees section, you can easily see all the employee-related tasks available, the full list of employees, recent reports, etc. In Quickbooks, much more information is hidden underneath multiple layers, and there is a lot more cross-linking between functions, so it is actually really hard to find what you want again.

I was looking for something more intuitive and quick-learning than the Adobe suite. Unfortunately, I really didn’t find it here. There is a whole set of video tutorials that comes with the suite, and from the topic list, they seem pretty comprehensive. I was just looking for an approach where I could jump right in and learn on the fly … not have to study up for hours before using at all.

I was really looking forward to having a shiny, new, updated Office quite for Mac, with this version. Unfortunately, it is just totally unstable. I have a brand new Macbook Pro fully updated OS and high RAM, and the Office applications (particularly Excel, but also Word) crash on a regular basis, almost always resulting in data loss for me. When running, these apps seem to use up an extremely high amount of system resources and can run very slowly, or result in the rainbow spinny wheel for minutes at a time.

I hadn’t really explored the built-in Mac dictation functionality before Dragon, so can’t compare. But just the whole new time savings associated with being able to dictate and when multi-tasking (like ironing!), is pretty amazing.

I was pretty satisfied with the 2007 version of Excel, Word, and PPT. But very much looking forward to using the newly included OneNote functionality!

I looked at purchasing this Router. However, one has to wonder where these ratings are coming from since some of the reviews, along with the questions folks have asked about the product, do not seem to have anything to do with this product. What’s-up Amazon.
