If you have a newer Samsung Android smartphone such as a Galaxy Note 3 or Galaxy S4, there’s a built-in security feature called KNOX that will more than likely conflict with prominent anti-virus or internet security app. These security apps require administrative access for features such as remotely wiping the phone and activating the camera. Though intentional, KNOX will probably refuse such access. There have been several documented cases of this conflict on the S4.

Virus protection, safe-browsing, firewall, etc.nAll the usual things you expect from a big-name anti-virus software.
I’ve used Norton, McAfee, Microsoft, AVG, Kaspersky, and some little brands I don’t remember.nThey’ve all been pretty comparable, but I’ve been fortunate enough to avoid major infections, so I can’t speak to how they handle big attacks.
The only significant differences I’ve noticed in any of them had nothing to do with performance.nPrimarily, it’s things like the user-interface and usability that sets one apart from the other.

The installation of Vipre AntiVirus + AntiSpyware was pretty easy and didn’t take long.nIt has advanced searching and detection for rootkits and helps dig deeper into the computer system.nAlso additional benefits are the history cleaner and secure file eraser.nI like the way this product performs and feel more reassured by having it.

Unlike other anti virus software I’d been using, Bitdefender Internet Security updates hourly as opposed to two to four days. It also has settings protection and vulnerability scan which my other programs both did not have. As did the other programs, it also has parental controls for households with children.
I didn’t encounter much difficulty during installation, though I did need to uninstall my previous anti virus program.
Because it is superior to the program I had been using, I am very satisfied and happy with the many functions of this software program.

This maximum security spyware assures security against hijacking and identity theft. It also protects against viruses and worms and blocks malware and phishing sites.nIt doesn’t slow down the computer.nThe reasonable price for this protection should also be considered.nI found it easy to install and use.nHighly recommended.

I assume that most of the anti-virus programs out there work. I’ve used Norton anti-virus and it seems to work well. Vipre seems to work well, but it is somewhat less smart about how it updates. It’s more intrusive and less automatic.
While I wouldn’t say it’s a bad product (I’ve left it installed), I will switch back to Norton once the year subscription expires.

I bought the 7.0 version in the hopes of sharing a 500gb RAID drive between my XP and Mac systems. After installing Paragon, the drive mounted fine and seemed to be operational. I had a FCP project with about 40gb of files on the drive.
Before getting to work I decided to organize things a little, moving a folder with 20gb of QT movies into a different folder. Mistake. I got a ‘this operation could not be completed because the files could not be found’ error.

While it didn’t cause any problems for me, I don’t see any major benefit either. Machine doesn’t feel faster and overall there’s no noticable difference. This doesn’t mean it didn’t do anything, any clean up is good, but I’m not very impressed.

It’s Office. It’s Microsoft. I need it so I can open files that folks send me.
The good:nExcel is still probably the best spreadsheet program out there.nOutlook is a good email program, if you don’t use webmail.
The bad:nPowerpoint is crap and Keynote is significantly better.nPages does everything I need out of a Word Processor. Really don’t need Word except for opening other people’s docs.
The ugly:nMicrosoft has a tendency of rejiggering their UI and removing functionality for no apparent reason.
