I had no problems downloading to my laptop and as usual am very happy with the product. We have been using Quicken for years to monitor investments, we are able to know where we are on a daily basis using this product.

I started using Webroot last year. It’s my favorite security software. It downloads and installs with no problems, works completely unnoticed in the background, and always catches any virus that shows up. It also scans and cleans up your PC super quick. The only time it seeks your attention is when it detects a virus, detects a webpage that may be trouble, or when your subscription has less than 30 days left.

After trying various security software, I reached the conclusion Kaspersky was the best. But now I think Bitdefender is as good, and possibly even better. This Bitdefender security suite downloaded, installed and updated with no problems. Unlike my Kaspersky, which was just the anti-virus version, the Bitdefender has a firewall and does PC maintenance, too. It also blocks others from sharing, if you have an unsecured wireless network. Like Kaspersky, I also think it discovers more threats than other security software.

I hate to say it, but this is not as good as MS. It is a good basic word processor and spreadsheet program, but then again, so is Libre Office (which is free). I actually find WordPerfect Office very similar to the Libre Office product. In general there seems to be more features and functionality in the MS Office suite than Corel’s Office Suite. Although this may be because I am not used to the product, having used MS Office for the past 20 years.

I have been using Taxcut for several years now. It has worked fine and I have no major issue. I would only caution that if you have a very complicated return, you go to an accountant. One of the minor issues I have with this software (and the same may be true of Turbo Tax) is that some of their explanations for some of the more complex inputs is not as clear.

I have used taxcut for at least 10 years with no issue. Granted, my return is not that complicated, w-2, several 1099’s, mortgage interest, real estate taxes, and a K-1. The federal and state went smoothly and e-filed both.
The only complaint, which is why it gets 4 stars rather than 5, is that past versions allowed you to compare the current year with the national average. This is not longer a feature (at least not during the interview process).

I was initially hesitant to purchase this instead of Turbo Tax due to the problems listed in these reviews. I did end up buying Tax Cut when it was a Gold Box Special. I just finished e-filing both my federal and state returns. Everything worked out fine (with the exception that I owed taxes).
The only minor issue was that when I put in some information on an investment, it flagged a deduction entry as a potential problem.

I have been using H&R Block for many years now. It is a straight-forward program for straight-forward tax returns. I have been trying to research a potential issue related to an K-1 form (final K-1 and associated losses), but I can’t seem to figure out how it is reported in the program. I’m still researching it and may try their help line.
As a final note, I should have waited until after the new year to purchase this program.

I have used H&R Block (or Tax Cut) for over 10 years. I got the disk this time and it has installed and updated with no issues. I am using a Win 7 machine. I have not finished a return yet (I’m still waiting for many IRS forms, including my W-2), but so far the product looks and feels like the 2012 program, which worked fine.
