I did all the prep for XP Professional, and the thing installed beautifully after about 7 or 8 trys. The thing that made it work was shutting down all things in services that could be shut down. SP2 in Windows XP pro is a pain. Installing to my Windows ME PC was a dream.

I am amazed at the negative reviews. This software installs like a dream, and even if you don’t need Norton Utilities, this is the essential software if you have a connection to the internet. The Anti-virus software gets everything that McAfee fails to get, and is easily update-able. In fact everything about the NIS 2006 is easy to work. Unless you have some serious comprehension issues, then this is a great choice.

McAfee Anti-Theft 2009 1 User needs Activation, to get the updates, and I would assume to register. It would be more ideal if written into the code of this activation was the Name of the person so that theft of any key files could be traced. This uses vaults to safeguard personal files , and for each password protected vault there is a set of three pre-defined questions if you forget your password ( no room is given for a user defined field).
