Maybe if you have a very simple return it is worth the money; but for my return (I sold some stock, and have one employer) it couldn’t handle it. After I filled every thing out, and e-filed, I got an email the next day saying e-file wouldn’t accept my tax return for an unknown reason, I had to manually check every single entry (I could have done that without a computer program).

I have had McAfee installed on my 5 computers for several years. Seems to work well.nMy biggest complaint is that I get short notice when the license will expire (after a year), and to keep protected McAfee wants me to renew online for 3 times the cost of buying through Amazon. So try to remember to buy the new version a month before the old one expires. Also, getting last years version seems to work as well (but cheaper) than getting this years version.

I upgraded to this version for the HDR feature; It works well at combining multiple exposures (over and under exposed, to create one photo where all parts are nicely exposed). Like any new big photo program, It takes a few days (not hours) to get used to the different features, and become productive again (I’ve used a half dozen different programs in the past 20 years, each does similar things a bit differently).

turbotax is ok, but their aggressive, deceptive, mercenary marketing has driven me away. As many others are doing, in 2014 I will be using the competitor’s tax software. to be continued…

They have certainly improved the handling of some financial investments from the institutional firms. Multiple funds at one firm are better handled than they were previously. I like the morningstar ratings being posted if you are on the right screen. But, I feel like some was lost on the debtor side. It used to be so easy to record a payment on my mortgage. now I feel like it is a fight each time to do it correctly.

Well. I tried this software because of the competitor’s pricing shenanigans. The basic look and feel of the software is fine. It leads you through questions as you would hope it would do. If you download information from financial firms, sometimes HR Block works, sometimes it does not and not every institution is accepted. If you have basic taxes it works fine. If you have more complicated scenarios, it doesn’t work.

12/14/13nI have to update my review. The 1st review was on the check register, this review is on the investment register. Horrible downgrades they have made to this software. Like several others I am seriously considering going back to my previous version and forgoing any connectivity with stock updates. Transactions don’t enter when accept them and it reenters a previous one. it takes so long to register that you think you didn’t click and you enter the transaction again.

their marketing of services is irritating, their support and tax help is frustrating and nearly worthless. but taxes are too complicated to do by hand. They seem to handle complicated issues somewhat more thoroughly than TaxCut.

The interview is fine, it usually takes you where you need to go, BUT!nnline items have no link back to the data source, so you can’t figure out what the software is doing and if you entered data correctly at an earlier step. After I efiled 2010 taxes, I discovered that the 2009 software never carried forward passive losses and thus they were not captured on the 2010 software. BIG MISTAKE TURBOTAX.
