I build my own computers. For my newest gaming computer I selected Vista as my O/S…. BIG MISTAKE. A long list of problems and such. It is gaming hostile, very slow, very buggy. And the nvidea video driver for Vista is bad news.
It was soooo bad I just bought XP PRO SP2 and removed Vista from my system. XP is wonderful in comparison. Vista was soooo cruddy and slow.nPASS on this one.

Windows XP had problems. Vista a bit better, for me. 7 is great, happy with it. I won’t buy 8 unless there is absolutely NO alternative. 7 good for gamers.

I purchased FTM 2012 as a companion to my online Ancestry.com account. I liked FTM 2012. However, its sync process became too unstable. I hoped an upgrade to FTM 2014 would cure that. Unfortunately, I found 2014’s syncs are just as unstable.
I have nearly 11,000 relatives in my tree. I found and can replicate sync problems arise after I used the resolve location wizard in both the 2012 and 2014 versions.

Year in, year out, this product works well. I am glad I switched to this brand and intend to stay with it for years to come.

We have been using the H&R line of products for years. We are a double income family with no unusual sources of income or deductions. It is quite easy for us to prepare our federal taxes and file them using H&R’s program.

[…] This hotfix allegedly allows the backup of the most modern UEFI-based computers, i.e., WIN8 generation computers. This will allow WIN8 computer backups (I had been using an external drive as an alternative for my WIN8 laptop.nUpdate –nMy WHS 2011 uses RAID drives with 4K sectors for the server’s C: and D: disks, each works without a problem. I had no idea the server backup disk, on the other hand, still requires 512K physical sectors.

Don’t be left out with what 99% of personal computer users enjoy. Stick with the mainstream. Be part of the masses. Windows XP is faster, more stable, and has more options than Mac will ever have. Why should you feel left out?

I agree with the earlier reviewers about the myriad positive features this upgrade brought. Faster operations, better stability, exciting new features (e.g., batch bill pay, ability to handle options - finally! - auto balancing, better portfolio views, etc. etc.), and still a great price. Even without the rebate, this is a worthy upgrade. BTW, CompUSA has the lowest price I’ve seen.nThe only gripe I have with Money is the still confusing interface, esp.

I hate to be harsh to products, esp. since I was a huge fan of Norton Utilities back in the late 80s/early 90s. But over the last couple of years I’ve been disappointed at many Symantec products, which seem more guided by greed than anything else. Peter Norton, where are you?nNSW 2003 continues the tradition of bloatware (lots of files and components, many surreptitiously loaded into your system at runtime even if you don’t want them), dangerware (my Windows 2000 laptop went kaput after running WinDoctor and I had to reformat the hard drive), and ripping off the loyal customer (no upgrades from previous versions, as Richard Clayton clearly noted).
