The install process was easy on Vista Ultimate. In fact this version of the software uses a really convenient system where you register on their site to activate your software. This way you don’t need to worry about losing your software key. Some may find that intrusive but I find it useful.
I think most people are familiar with the most basic function a virus/spyware scanner performs. It looks for pre-defined viruses/spyware and makes sure that you don’t download, email or install them.

Everything went fine this year. I installed the software no problem. I imported data from my brokerages no problem. I uploaded my returns electronically smoothly. The whole process went very well.
I was also very happy with the 10% bonus offer that was available if I used my refund to get an Amazon gift card.

Don’t do it. I updated from windows 7 Ult 64 and found zero benefits. It booted only slightly faster but sometimes actually slower, not sure why?. Many programs did not work after upgrade. I installed VMware player and it ran so slow it was almost not useable with my I7 processor. Has some features from windows 7, but feels a lot like windows 8.1. Also has a tablet mode - who needs that on a desktop.

TurboTax Deluxe is back! Yeah, thanks! Please don’t mess with it again. TTax is number one, so don’t mess with it like last year. PS: I guess last year they forgot the past, i.e. when they tried to charge for printing extra returns and the famous Coke faux pas. Now, please don’t forget the infamous 2014 mistake.

Beware TurboTax Deluxe no longer provides for 1099 B income. I have used TurboTax for many years - except one year long ago when they tried to charge $9.99 to print an extra return. Now they’re doing it again with a different approach. If you receive a 1099 B which is very common, when you try to enter it, it will hold you up until you give them $30. You cannot even manually enter it.

TurboTax - I’m changing to H&R Block. The last time I changed was when you tried to impose a $9 fee for printing extra returns. Now you are at it again by eliminating a key component to the program. After many years as a customer, albeit one year I left because of the printing issue, I am now changing over to H&R. I will request a refund for the product - Good bye!

TurboTax Deluxe does not work this year. They removed ability to handle 1099 B income. Watch out! They have also raised E file fee for state!

The cost to do the same taxes this year with TurboTax has significantly increased over last year. Even the State E file fees went up after I bought the product. Intuit needs to understand that we won’t continue to allow them to act like the IRS and take advantage of us. We have choices like Tax Act, H&R Block etc. Please boycott this company until they stop acting so greedy.
