PrintMaster is just fine if all you want to do is use the built-in templates to make family newsletters, simple brochures, greeting cards, and stuff like that. I tried to use it for something a little more (but not much more) advanced – a program for a roller derby bout. I found it difficult to work with, and the help system didn’t work at all.
If you just want to use the templates to do simple stuff, this is a fine choice; but if you want to do anything on your own, you’re probably better off with a more powerful program.

I installed this product on both my laptop and my desktop PCs. My laptop meets the minimum requirements for Windows Live OneCare, but the program still slowed the laptop down to a maddeningly slow pace. I uninstalled it, and immediately the laptop sped up again.
If your computer exceeds the minimum requirements (OneCare requires at least 256 MB of RAM; I wouldn’t try it unless you have 512 MB or more), this is a pretty good anti-virus program.

What I mainly want from my antivirus software is for it to do its job, and shut up and leave me alone. :-) By that, I mean that I don’t want it asking me for input all the time, or interrupting me when I’m trying to do something. I’m definitely satisfied with McAfee on that front. It’s pretty unobtrusive. I assume it’s doing its job – antivirus software is one of those things that, if it’s working properly, you don’t really notice.

It’s hard to review security software, since when it does its job you (ideally) don’t notice it. I have had no problems using McAfee Total Protection on my Windows Vista computer, and that’s all I can really ask of it. It was easy to install, it’s easy to use, and it hasn’t caused my computer to crash so far.

If you’ve tried a number of sketch or paint programs like I have, you might already be too discouraged to try this one. But don’t be. This one’s different. Sketchbook Pro 7 has much of the simplicity of programs that don’t do half as much as well as the functionality of much more complex and hard-to-use programs, but it is easy to use and has amazing functionality for such a simple program.

I have not used any of the previous versions of this software, so unlike reviewers experienced with the old package I had no preconceived ideas about how it should work. One thing I liked about it was that it put my photos and videos all in one place and gave me thumbnails of all of them so I could see everything at a glance. Also, I loved being able to assign stars to each photo.
