Iolo’s System Mechanic is a great software package. I have been using it for years now. My computers have never run so well since I first installed System Mechanic. I highly recommend it to anyone with a Windows PC or laptop. It is a must have item on all my computers. Just give it a try and you will see how it works. ( 5 STARS )!

I got tired of the Win98 crashes, so decided to buy and install this. I do web design for a living and so am commonly running a web server locally on my machine, as well as an application server, editor, browser, email, etc. all at the same time. Lockups and crashes were pretty common. What a difference W2K has made! I did a complete reinstall, something that I definitely recommend if at all possible.

I’ve used this program off-and-on, to convert photos to paintings, but I always end up going back to Photoshop. My impression is that maybe if you are a seasoned painter, or have previous experience with the program, it might be a good choice, but there’s so many great tutorials and training DVDs on using Photoshop, that I end up going back to it. There’s certainly so many things I would ONLY use Photoshop for as well, that I find it hard to recommend this, when I can achieve all I want with that program.

A year ago, Amazon offered me a copy of Office 365 for Mac, this year, I got the standalone Home and Student version to try. While usually I prefer paying once for software, it’s hard to look at the pricing and not see the value in considering the cloud version. You not only get 1 TB of cloud storage, you get the full suite of products, at a price that gives you two years of access for less than the standalone software costs.

I downloaded this when I couldn’t get Microsoft to download MS Office 2010 with my key information. Getting used to the icons, but it works great so far.
