I have been using Kaspersky’s PC security products for about 2 years now and can say that I am more than satisfied using them as well as recommending them to other clients I assist with technical and security issues. In the past, I have used McAfee (for a very short time), and Norton but none of them have been as effective at stopping threats, spam, etc. like Kaspersky has. For me, it has blocked thousands of website banners and advertisements, a good amount of spam, as well as a few viruses and Trojans here and there from malicious emails.

I’ve used Trend Micro’s products for years and have been very satisfied! No issues to report and highly recommend it!nEven though I am a power user, I love the feeling of turning on my PC and knowing my security definitions are already up to date…in the cloud.

I bought this software to mess around with in my virtual environment before I deploy it to my host PC. And I am glad I did this too because having used Windows 7 since it came out, Windows 8 is different and does take some time and playing around with to get used to. A lot of people I have talked to have said it’s bad and almost like another Windows Vista, but it does take some time to adapt to it and use it to understand fully how it works.

It seemed like for a while Kaspersky’s protection was starting to lack but it seems like it has improved and provides solid protection from spam and malware. I use almost every feature the product offers with the exception of Safe Money. It seems to freeze up my browser a lot but other features like Virtual Keyboard and Network Monitor help me out a lot! I may eventually look into their Small Office Security to secure a few Windows Servers I also have running on my network for added protection.

I have a lot of computers/devices on my home network (including a server). Although Trend’s home products don’t work on a server, it was vital for me to keep each PC/Mac protected at every point possible to protect every possible entry into the network. With Trend, it’s easy! Trend’s Smart Protection Network has protected me more than once from spam, malicious URLs in Facebook/Twitter, and more. The threat detection also seems pretty good.

I’ve been using Quicken for twenty years now, and usually upgrade only when the program really changes for the better. Thus, having purchased Quicken Deluxe 2011, I would not normally have expected to upgrade this year, and would have settled for the Deluxe version rather than Premier. However, I was happy to do so as a Vine reviewer.
Thus far, all I’m noticing is that the new version is a bit smoother in operation, and a bit less objectionable on the eyes.

I’m in the process of updating a will, so was looking forward to using this as a starting point, leaving only the final review to my attorney.
In practice, I found it impossible to get what I wanted that way. Instead, I ended up just manually editing my existing will with a word processor.
If you’ve never created a will, living will, or durable power of attorney, this software gives you a starting point for your thinking, and helps make sure you don’t skip important steps.

I’ve used Quicken since 1984, typically upgrading every time I get a major new version of Microsoft Windows. This time, however, I upgraded from Quicken 2012 Premier to Quicken 2013 Deluxe, primarily to use the new Quicken iPhone app. (I settled for Deluxe rather than Premier because I haven’t found myself needing the extra features of Premier.)nnLike last year, the upgrade and registration was easy and mostly automatic. It noticed and removed my previous version, and restored its data, saving a safety copy as it upgraded the data format for 2013.

Well phooey. I ordered this 2009 version, expecting it to surely work with my pre-release version of Microsoft Windows 7, but that turned out not to be possible. The installation disk did not recognize Windows 7 as a supported version. I then attempted to load the pre-release version available within Windows 7 itself, only to discover that version didn’t fully work either, with the vendor’s discussion board stating Windows 7 isn’t officially supported yet.
