After hours with HP tech support (thank you HP for all your time for a bad Microsoft product)I finally came to the conclusion that the only way I was going to get my Vista 64-bit computer to work was to upgrade to Window’s 7.
I have been thrilled with Window’s 7.n1. It is nearly as stable as XP in my experiencen2. Navigation flows welln3. I really like what they did with the task barnnIt appears to manage resources better than Vista.

I’ve used Roxio products for quite some time.
I’ve used this limitedly for video editing… and it is pretty straight forward in navigation.
What I really like about this product is how it handles various media. It is so easy to duplicate CD/DVD (data or my own creations). It is also easy to rip music (like this better than what comes with Windows).
So when it comes to media management / creation / copying this is what I use Roxio the most for.

I’ve had several hard drive failures and have dumped lots of stuff onto a spare internal drive.
While it takes a while it did a great job of discovering duplicative files that are spread through multiple files on my drivenndid a decent job of scanning registry files (something I usually use a freeware program for)

I was excited to see what differences PCTOOLS offered in comparison to the big two anti-virus software makers.
Alas I failed to read the small print. This does not work with 64-bit operating systems.
I was excited because not only is this a full fledged spyware program it also includes virus protection at a reasonable price. Additionally this program is licensed for up to 3 users.

When traveling I use a lot of public hot spots. This is nice in that it adds a layer of perception of safety.
Does not appear to slow or lag my tablet and I can hope that it does what it says it does.
Have yet to really travel with it (that is where the real testing will occur and I will update if there is anything of note).
but does add peace of mind when at the local coffee shop without impacting performance in a notable manner

This program has a wonderfully inventive menu system for accessing tools. This unique interface system takes a bit to get used to but it provides a great way of accessing tools. There are a lot of great tools but it takes a while to figure out how to use them.
I kept trying to use this program for specific projects but tended to get frustrated and give up. I really liked how the tools were organized but could just not get the program to do what I wanted it to.

Like the whole new 2007 Office Suite it takes a bit of getting used to. However from the get go things are so much more intuitive with Outlook.
Scheduling meetings is easier.nThe look and feel of the mail, calendar and contacts are by far easier to navigatenFlagging for follow up is easier and the ability to set and personalize flags is quiet easynI love how much easier it is to set the out of office notification.

I loved the drawing functions within this program and found them somewhat easy to get the hang of – took a little bit in that they were not as intuitive as I would like however once I figured them out the functionality was good.
On the picture editing side I did not have as much patience. It was not intuitive and I was seldom pleased with the results. If you are looking for an editor for pictures and giving pictures special effects I would by far recommend Adobe Photoshop Elements.

I admit that I was worried about installing this software. Would it make it impossible to go to my banking sites (I have had security updates that have all of a sudden caused problems with sites I know and trust? Would it be effective? Would it come up too often or be intrusive and annoying?nnSo I installed it on the computer that the kids (the 20 year olds) use most often and I use least often!
