The older version had more setting options and you couldnturn off Auto Updates. You could also stop or turn off severalnof the privacy features.nOn this one, you have to agree to let them send ALL of your user informationnto them. I don’t Care for that AT ALL when I’m paying for a program.nAND it constantly runs.. Even If I set it NOT to start, it still starts and runs…nI ended up deleting it so it was nothing but a waste of MONEY to me.

Having spent the better part of today with Apple’s latest operating system upgrade I can say that the transition to 10.6 was a much smoother process than the jump from Tiger to Leopard. Today’s upgrade installation took a little less than an hour on my 2009 Macbook Pro.
The result? Subtle changes that definitely don’t demand you do this upgrade immediately. Still, many little annoyances are fixed, and performance has been tuned to the point that this upgrade results in a noticeably ‘snappier’ operating system.

Let me start by saying that the Mac versions of Quickbooks have been lacking as compared to their Windows counterparts, but things are getting better. When I installed the software this evening it immediately downloaded an 82 megabyte upgrade, so I suspect some of the bugs mentioned in the other reviews have been addressed. I was able to upgrade my file from the 2011 version of the software without incident. I was also able to successfully edit a few transactions and conduct my end of week review without any problem.

I find paying for this software each year to be entirely worth the money. I don’t find working with taxes easy, and this makes the best out of a bad job. Being a Brit living in the States, I do find that the way it deals with assets in another country can be a bit clunky and not intuitive, but the support online usually gets me through it. I find this is an good tool to help me get through a necessary evil.

I just couldn’t get to grips with this software. It’s not bad, but I just thought that in this case, it would be easier just to eat the cost and pay an attorney to do this for you. Not for me, but might be for you.

I think as Norton have tried to add more features, this thing has become too bloated and also too ‘vocal’ with popups coming up for everything, just like it needs to justify it’s existence and expense somehow. I honestly think that the less resource-intensive and free offerings such as the Microsoft offering and even AVG, coupled with taking some care what attachments and links you click on are far better than spending money on this sort of thing.

You’ve got to give this product it’s due. Unless you are a professional graphic artist, this great program contains everything you need to edit your photos and more. Sure, Photoshop can do a few things this can’t, but you mostly don’t need them for everyday photo editing. I’ve also mostly stopped using Lightroom as this contains great tools for organizing photos by place, date, tags and more. Love the face recognition also, really useful for sorting photos by people (though it sometimes gets it wrong).

… It does do the job and it does the job pretty well. I am not a person who understands finances and taxation very well and I have a reasonably complex tax situation with stock and a foreign bank account. I’m consistently surprised by how easily TurboTax walks me through everything and gives me links to more explanation when I need it. For the price, I think it’s absolutely worth it, and indeed critical for me to do my taxes.

If there’s one thing I’ve seen, it’s that there doesn’t seem to be any middle-ground with Windows 8 and 8.1. People either love it or hate it. Or really hate it and prefer Mac OS X. Each to their own is what I say and nobody is ever going to make everyone happy.nAs for me, it took me a long time to learn to cope with the slightly schizophrenic nature of the OS, with the modern and classic desktops only sort of co-existing.

Horrendous. Could not figure out how to use parts of it. The tax code is ridiculously complicated and this didn’t help much, although our tax situation is quite simple. Could not e-file . And zero customer service
