I’ve been impressed with the Sage programs for managing my small business, and have found Pro Accounting to be a useful tool. Its invoice generation has been so useful (you can send regular invoices, collection notices, late fees, etc, too which is super handy). For my purposes, I probably use only 30% of the software’s functionality: it meets the needs for my small at-home business. Other businesses may find it a better investment than me.

To teach myself how to use Sage 50, I relied online tutorials (video and text) for when I got stuck; Youtube has a wealth of intro/beginner/intermediate ones for helping setup and run the program. With an afternoon’s focus, I got most of the basic functions implemented and felt comfortable using the software. This software is really ideal for a small business or company that needs reliable accounting software, but does not (yet) need an actual accountant or financial person to keep tabs on things.

Cyberlink PowerDirector is the first video-editing software I’ve used. It has a moderate learning-curve, but I found it navigable and useable after a few hours of playing around.nIt’s a highly-customizable and powerful software package. I could see using it for minor undertakings, like personal YouTube videos, and for more professional/academic applications. It’s very versatile and employs a drag-and-drop interface. PowerDirector can export its videos in multiple formats, including MP2, avi, wma, and QuickTime.

Pinnacle Studio 19 Plus is good mid-level video editing software. Its price point and functionality are targeted towards the beginner-intermediate editor, and it works reliably, has powerful editing capabilities, and import/export functionality. I run it on a Windows 10 computer (about 1.5 years old) and haven’t had an issues with it. This is a solid software choice if you’re looking for editing software for personal or family videos, or for basic work/technical film editing.

Instant Immersion Italian language program was easy to install and easy to begin learning. I have used several different foreign language programs. This program is much easier and focuses on basic conversational language and daily activities. In addition to the computer software, a verbal conversation disk is included that I used while driving my car.

This is the newest version of print shop deluxe. It looks nothing like print shop 23. If you have used older versions of print shop and were hoping to upgrade to the newest version with ease, this version will disappoint you. They have designed it to look like the pro version. They need to go back to the 23 design with upgrade. This program crashes and the best PDF I could get was a 150 dpi.
