DO YOU NEED TO FILE STATE TAX? Make sure you get a state version if you do, or federal only if you don’t.
This review is for TuboTax 2013 Deluxe for Federal Returns. Fortunately I live in Texas and there is no state income tax so I don’t have to worry about the state portion.
TurboTax has had its share of issues but I came back to it because it does seem to be the best there is, but I’m knocking off a star because of the history of issues I’ve had with the program in previous years (like it not calculating tax correctly until I deleted some assets and then re-entered them).

I had higher expectations for a program such as FTM.
It seemed mainly designed to get you to sign up for monthly billing of Ancestry.com. You cannot access your free month trial of ancestry without a valid credit card, which will then turn into recurring billing until you cancel the account. At first I wondered why would I need never ending access to a website; then as I spent hours finding virtually nothing I realized this family tree investigation would take a lot of time.

I’m a longtime Norton user. I’ve gone through all the various name changes and levels of coverage and my current experience is with Norton 360. Norton has now somewhat simplified it’s internet security line-up with one name, and 3 different versions: Standard, Deluxe and this Premium suite. [See photo of box showing which features each has]nnInstallation was pretty fast. I entered the product key and was done right quick. As I use N360, I clicked on Stay Protected and it brought me to the renew subscription screen, with the option of entering a key code.

This is a pretty good suite of software programs. There’s a decent video editor for creating your own videos, capturing and conversion of videos for different devices, and the usual tools for ripping and burning Cds, enhancing photos, and backing up or copying data.nAfter a long installation, I began looking at each feature. It took me several tries to get the VideoWave feature to open after receiving the same error message.

I’ve used McAfee, Avast, and for the longest time, Norton. I’ve been using Webroot for over a year now, and have found this to be the least power hungry program, and have it on my dsktop, laptop and Smart Phone.
It has caught malware, where Norton hasn’t. It’s a great Internet Security suite and I’ve had no issues with it slowing down my equipment. Also love the Password Saver and it’s uses.

I love these software programs you can play around with editing and creating videos. I’ve used an older version of Power Director so I am somewhat familiar with using such software, and Pinnacle Studio 18 Plus has a similar look and feel with a screen layout that has tabs for Media, Effects, Transitions and sound effects.
The installation does take quite a bit of time. Maybe it’s my PC, which is a Toshiba i5 with 4G memory running Windows 7.
