Intuit removed Schedule K-1 for reporting income from the Deluxe version after having it there for years and years and wanted me to buy the Premier version instead. I opted to buy the HR Block product instead.

I’ve been using QuickBooks Pro since 1996 when I started my own business. I hate upgrading but the last time I did it was in 2010. So I just got a new computer and I couldn’t install my old version (2010). It was time to buy a new version. I always buy the disk version since I can reinstall it at will and the download may not always be available.

I have to admit from the start that I got AutoCAD Lt because I receive CAD files - I do not have a need to create them.nAs a graphic designer, I do a lot of work for companies that build new homes or apartment communities. I receive CAD files from their architects and I have to import them into Adobe Illustrator and manipulate them to use in marketing materials.
The CAD files I receive are usually bogged down with details that I don’t want and ultimately, I spend a lot of time deleting lots of unnecessary lines and marks.

When I started typing, we had manual typewriters (clickity clack and ting for the return). Electric typewriters were available but not at our high school. By the time I went to college, I had an electric typewriter and actually charged $1 per page to type papers for fellow students. Although at that time, it was not particularly lucrative, it was the practice that became invaluable to me.
As a business owner now, I can’t tell you how much time I save in having good typing skills.

While I have to admit that I don’t use extensive movie editing software often, I’ve used the simplistic Movie Maker that comes with Windows. It is really easy to use and has basic transitions and editing capabilities. I did not find Movie Edit Pro to be very intuitive and it took (as expected with a learning curve) quite a bit of time for me to learn enough to do some simple video import and editing.

Very over priced for just doing a 2 page grantors trust 1041 especially when you have to manually enter all the information. They really should include this in a less expensive package or set something up online like they do for 1099 generation. Next year I can do it myself without this package.

OK, I really don’t love TurboTax and I bought H&R block in an attempt to switch but it is the best out there if you have K1’s. H&R block is awful and is no way near the capability of TurboTax in that regard. If the K1 is from a public company they simply say tuff, enter it manually and figure out yourself all the other forms it has to go to.

I have used TurboTax every year for what seems like forever, at least 15 years. Not that I love it but it works and can carry over and import what I need. Would be happy if they didn’t play with the user interface each year but guess they have to keep the software engineers busy. They have their bugs and you have to check the form level of the taxes to ensure no mistakes.

I’ve been using TurboTax forever. Yes it gets a bit pricey but it works and I’m use to it. Like the fact I can bypass the prompts and enter information directly on the forms and/or option screens. The $19.95 to file a state return is expensive and in my case I need two state returns so having to pay another $40 for state software and then $19.95 for both states filing doesn’t seem right.

I use the Deluxe version every year. Works for simple Schedule C’s as well. Works well and hope they stop trying to change the user interface just for the sake of changing it. State returns are getting pricey but can’t beat the simplicity of filing. I’ve had friends the have been burnt by bugs but seems if you call their support line (and wait forever) they have back doors to fix just about anything.
