I actually work with many large files so having software that can compress them is helpful when I need it although that isn’t as often as one would expect. This software installs easily, is easy to use and does the job that is asked of it. It’s not astounding and won’t change your life, but it is overall intuitive and useful. The biggest issue for me is whether people receiving my files can unzip them again since many of these formats are not common to the average computer users and their own softwares.

Ancestry.com and FamilySearch.org are two of the best online genealogy resources and this software helps you use both, especially if you don’t want to work online 100% of the time. You can create files by importing and transferring previous files from other sources, such as GEDCOM, too, so if you are not new to this, the software is still useful.

Yes, what took me about half an hour last year from download, install and data entry is still not done after at least six times that long and I am ANGRY. I am trying to create 1099s, a simple programming function compared to the rest of the tax needs I am going to have as I prepare our full taxes and THE SYSTEM DOESN’T WORK. 1099 and W-2 is now forced to be online and the system is horrible, doesn’t work and each successful data entry takes at least three attempts.

The information they provided did not solve the problem and the only available next step was to submit my email address. The Quicken reply message was not helpful and only stated that they will email me when they have a solution to the problem.

I have been using TurboTax and filing NJ Resident & NY Non-Resident taxes for more than 10 years. For most years, the previous year’s information is transferred this year’s. Not so for TurboTax 2015. I had to re-enter all 4 SSNs. My spouse works in NY and hence we file a NY Non-Resident form. For most years, we get a modest refund or at worst a modest tax due. I was shocked when I saw that we owe 10X more than last year’s.

Installation was easy and trouble-free. However, if you currently have some antivirus software or other similar programs, BitDefender suggests that you delete that program before installing BitDefender or else risk system instability. I just wish that BitDefender can detect other programs but give you the option to turn the other program off temporarily rather than asking you to delete it before you know whether your installation has been successful with BitDefender.

This is a good software teaching kids typing by providing typing games. This is my second purchase and I am disappointed that the company did not update with to better fit MS Windows 8. As such, the graphics seem dated. It’ll do the job but just not all that pretty.

TurboTax 2011 has the same easy interface as prior years. The navigation seems a bit easier this year than the past years. I used to print out the TurboTax forms to mail them in. Now, I just used e-File. The federal and state returns are both free for the TurboTax Deluxe version! 2 hours with various tax documents and my TurboTax and I am done! The only minor nit is that the loading time for the program is a bit longer than other years.
