Kaspersky used to be more geared to admins, coders, the uber pc geeks. (circa 2006) They got a bit better in 07-08, and now, 09, the go over the top.
This is a great suite. Very user friendly for the PC newbie, and for the pc god alike. You can let Kaspersky do all the work for you, or you can manage it like you wrote the programming.
I switched to Kaspersky after ZoneAlarm went to crap in 05-06.

I’ve used them all… McAfee, Norton, Trend Micro and Zone Alarm. McAfee and Norton are expensive (now zone alarm is too), with little to no real customer support. They all (except Trend Micro which has excellent customer support) charge a fee for calling support.
A Caveat with ZA, If YOU don’t read the begining tutorial, then when your PC doesn’t connect to the internet don’t blame ZA!!! There’s a brief 3 minute tutorial that lets ZA know your level of computer experteise.

Every anti-spyware program has its pros and cons… no single program can find everything…
Pros: Its had good reviews in a couple of magazines, and on NPR. It has an Internet Shield, Startup Shield, etc so it can alert you if anything has been added to your PC that you don’t want.
It finds some things that other programs do not (and other programs find things that this does not).

Hit and miss, Kasperksy is. It was great, set it and forget it for a long while. Then I upgraded to Windows 10. Still works great but breaks open VPN. I edited my registry to enable virtual tap adapters, and the issue persists. After much research, I’ve found that Kaspersky, even ‘turned off’ still blocks upgrades in 10 to a virtual tap adapter.
If you travel, and you use a VPN (you should on free wifi), then Kaspersky is not for you on Win10.

Norton rebuilt it’s software a few years back and it’s pretty reliable now. I work in IT. Most people that say it’s a resource hog either are on old versions are on pc’s from 1990…
It’s super simple setup so you can set it and forget it, and if you’re into configuring ports and program access, the options are there. It’s a solid antivirus and firewall. Norton online access makes moving licenses between devices seamless.

Overall, this software has a lot of great features, but I relied VERY heavily on a friend to show me how the software worked (read: he had to show me literally everything and I basically looked over his shoulder and asked what he thought of it for our project). Lesson learned! Leave some things to the pros. Having said that, we thought the product allowed us to do some neat stuff.

So I couldn’t use it. That was disappointing. I will update the review if and when I upgrade my system, but for the time being, I didn’t expect this incompatibility for a relatively new computer.

It’s good for basics and short low-res film clips. If you try to do longer stuff, it can really get slow and even crash. Fortunately, I was editing things meant for youtube as well as pictures. For these applications, the software was straightforward, fast, and easy to use. The results were good. I’ve also heard the tech support is non-existent, but I can’t speak to that since I have not had to use it myself (because I don’t use the software much–I have a Mac and a PC, and I almost exclusively use the Mac for this).

Having owned a PC years and years ago, I remembered needing antivirus and anti-malware products, and when I scanned my PC, a million things always popped up. I installed this in a few short minutes, scanned my MacBook Pro (took a long time, as these things often do), and nothing came up. That made me think this whole process was a little unnecessary.nThen I noticed my computer appeared to slow down when using the internet.

I hadn’t used WordPerfect in years and decided to give it a whirl when the opportunity arose. Overall, it’s a fine program. My favorite part of it is the level of control that I have as the user over my documents while creating them. It’s taken me years to achieve that level of control in MSWord and Excel and sometimes I still get flummoxed by those programs despite a high proficiency with them.
