I’ll confess. I was enraged when Microsoft brought out the 2007 version of their flagship Office Efficiency Package, and the files were not easily backwards compatible (I mean, you CAN save things as Office 2003 format, but who wants to go to the effort of setting it as the default??)nnThat said, I eventually came to terms with the fact that this is, after all, Microsoft Office, and you don’t really have much of a say in what it does or how it does it.

This is exceptionally nice software. Maybe it just feels that way because I’ve never used Photoshop on a tablet before (I used this on a Surface Pro 3, more on that in a minute), but I have always found Photoshop to be a bit cumbersome. Granted, it offers the power to do unreasonable things with images, but still…cumbersome. Too powerful for my needs. What I’ve always wanted was something somewhere between MS Paint and Photoshop.

I have been using Trend Micro on my main computer for around four years now, and my wife has as well. Our experiences have been mixed. While it does really well at nixing cookies (which is true for this as well), it sometimes doesn’t do so well at other viruses, though. In our experiences, we have had good results by scanning, defragmenting the drive, and then scanning again. Repetition of this pattern for some time got rid of one pernicious virus that we had, but I have caught something on my computer that this product hasn’t caught, yet.

I have spent the last 15 years doing my own taxes, as my life got progressively more complicated, including tax situations that most people don’t ever encounter. It’s simpler now (with just the SO, kids, and three jobs across two people and several states). This software is really straightforward to use. You just assemble all of the documents (which you would have to do anyway) and then start answering the thousands of questions that you have to answer the Tax Man every year.

I read their claims that the cloud technology keeps your computer from slowing down. I guess that they must mean that it keeps your computer from getting VIRUSES that slow it down. Because the updates (daily and large) certainly drain my system resources. As do the scans, which tend to take a couple hours for a thorough scan of less than 1 million files (most of them are system files…you’d be surprised how many files are really on your computer).

First, you certainly feel much better if either one is between you and the world. Second, while they’re doing their job, you kind of forget that they’re even there. Third, if something bad actually happens, neither one is going to stop it, and they might keep you from knowing that it happened.
I’ve installed this, and it was straightforward and easy to do. It claims that it’s caught a few tracking cookies and what-not, but nothing apparently significant has shown up.

This is a good program if you have a sole proprietor business, easy to follow ,there has been a problem down loading the selected state. Turbo Tax customer service has been very helpful in solving this problem
