..if you are unhappy with this change Tweet about it as well. Sometimes social media can change corporate decisions in a way that Amazon reviews may not.

Yes there are still some minor bugs that undoubtedly will get fixed but this year’s edition boasts the most perfect, elegant combination of interface simplicity, intuitiveness & functionality I have ever experienced in a Turbotax product. Note to Intuit - no more interface improvements needed - it’s perfect! Just repeat next year & the year after, etc. please.

Read all the reviews decided to install & hold off using the mobile app & cloud sync until those issues were resolved.
Install pretty smooth though I don’t understand why Intuit makes you uninstall prior versions before you can install the new one. Seemed to take a long time to download & install updates (to R4). First One Step Update took 30 minutes to complete (normally takes about 2 mins in 2012) and didn’t update about 1⁄3 of my accounts.

Peachtree always had a long legacy, perhaps not as the most ergonomic of tools, but certainly a stalwart in the industry. It’s cut and dry approach allowed great compatibility with the accounting workforce, particularly with part-time resources who were familiar with the product and allowed for a cost effective solution. Unfortunately it seems like Sage hired some management consultants who wanted to wring every penny from the product on the way to the bank without any foresight into the longevity of the platform brand.

The biggest reason to choose Sage/Peachtree is that you’ve by de facto already chosen it through the accountant you’ve hired. I think there are countless small businesses out there that use part-time accountants who have a long legacy with Peachtree. The upside is that it’s one of the two most popular programs out there, and that your accountant should be able to breeze through it. The UI is slowly getting better, but it’s still not particularly sleek or easy to use.

Tried upgrading from 2005 to 2006, but the activation screen would always freeze before the program could connect to verify. Problem appears to happen quite often when I searched around, but other than making sure all appropriate services and programs were running (and they were) there was no solution. Updating via LIveupdate did not help.
EVEN WORSE… when I went back to 2005 the same thing happened, so now both Norton AV 2005 and Norton AV 2006 are useless.

Installed in 4 different computer workstations, all worked without issues. Highly recommend for all windows O/S systems, and the price is hard to beat.
