I installed Trend Micro on Vista. Installation was fast and painless. Then I familiarized myself with the console, which is pretty intuitive except that I might not get around to ever using the advanced options. I ran a scan and several problems were identified and managed, and it was surprising how fast that went. I switched to Trend Micro firewall as I don’t see any reason to run a different firewall instead.

Norton didn’t slow down my Mac or give me any problems. This antivirus software is stable and gives me some peace of mind knowing I have in case some new threat emerges.

Not too long ago, I wrote a 20-page business plan just from scratch. Maybe that was a good exercise but I’ll never do it again. It was too time consuming. This software makes the job easy and dramatically reduces the time versus writing from scratch.
The time saved and professionalism in using this software even once will justify the investment. After all, one does not write a business plan without intending to invest money in startup costs.

I’ve tried to figure out how ratings of antivirus software show where Trend Micro stacks up against the competition. The ratings are all over the map. Sometimes Trend Micro is listed in the top ten antivirus software programs and more often not. It seems to depend on the methodology used to rate these programs, and of course on which set of rating one can trust. But they all seem to agree that Trend Micro is great in threat detection.

This version of McAfee presented a drag to my Mac and made life a little difficult at times. I stopped using auto scan and relied on McAfee as a user-initiated supplementary scan.
Also, I uninstalled when updating the Mac OS and this McAfee version didn’t support OS 10.8. I recently started using Sophos, a free antivirus software for Macs, and it seems better so far since it doesn’t slow down the system.

I love the way I could protect all my devices with one product, as many as I liked.
Hated the way it slowed down my Mac even though it didn’t find any problems, and when I quickly got invited to pay next year’s renewal.
Speed and safety both are needed. The lack of speed for the sense of more safety didn’t seem worth it to me. Also, there was no compensation for putting my data on their cloud.

Norton has come a long way since this version. This one was just not friendly to the user. Most PC users don’t want to work with the Internet Security software. To be honest, I don’t think the security parameters that I set changed anything.

What can anybody say about software for which there is no choice but to buy? Can’t do without it - had to buy it. Therefore I think the deal could be better.

This is the first time I’ve used Norton in many years - what an improvement. Task Manager tells me it uses a little over 4,500K of memory. That’s great given that I have 4.00 GB of memory of which I can use 3.87 GB with my 64-bit Windows 7 operating system. Norton 360 5.0 isn’t slowing me down and it uses only a small fraction of a second additional time in startup.

This Norton method can slow down performance since it routes through Norton, but also gives significant privacy. I always suspected public wi-fi wasn’t safe. It only felt safe when seeing everybody else using that connection and conducting all their business.
I find this program super easy to use while on public networks using my iPad and laptop. It uses a virtual private network with Norton - entirely unnecessary when on my home network.
