I’ve had Quicken 2012 for couple of months now and I’m really pleased with it. Previous to this issue. I had Quicken 2011. Normally I do not upgrade unless there are significant improvements to the next years model. However, I was offered this edition on Amazon Vine to review so I thought I would give it a try.
Now, before I go any further, let me state that I am not a Quicken power user.

I have mixed feelings on any voice recognition software. If I knew how to type properly instead of the hunt and peck method I use I wouldn’t have any need for this product. I don’t use it all that often but when I do it comes in incredibly handy. For example I am using this now to dictate this review. I’ve had to stop twice now to correct a mistake. Some of that could be caused by the fact I have the Moody blues running in the background on my stereo.

Quicken has scored again. As a beta tester for this version I have been using it since early summer. Quicken has made improvements and not lost any of the true and reliable features.

TurboTax continues to impress with the easier than ever interface. The completeness, care and attention to detail on the screens that we experienced during the beta test period was exceptional. It was so easy to tell exactly where you are in the program at all times. I would recommend the program to anyone.

I was fortunate enough to be a Beta tester this year for the Quicken Home and Business 2012 product. I was very pleased with the performance improvements in Quicken. There are improvements in click point access that make using the program easier and more convenient in areas ranging from reconciling my checkbook to downloading transactions.

I have been using Quicken 2011 as a beta tester for the last 2 months during the beta test period. This new version is considerably faster in saving and operations. The new Spending screens are very helpful. It is much easier to identify and fix the un-categorized transaction as well. I also use this version to track my car maintenance and repairs in a separate account and my medical expenditures complete with scanned copies of receipts in my main account file.

I have been using Quicken 2009 for a couple months as a beta tester. There are some great improvements that will be noticed by all users, new setup tab makes the installation a breeze and the tab screen layout is very helpful. The beta helpdesk people who took our calls and emails were very interested in following up on the smallest issue and following it through to completion. Good job Intuit!

I had been debating whether to get a GPS (like a TomTom) and didn’t want to spend that much on a navigator. So I was glad to try this product out. Of course, you have to deal with your own laptop issues in a vehicle when you want to use this - so it’s a little more burdensome than a TomTom. But I found it quite useful.
The software installation was nice and simple for me - I have XP.

I’ve been evaluating different anti virus software lately. McAfee, Norton and this one. For me the biggest concern was performance of my PC when the antivirus software was installed. McAfee was a hog and my PC ran really slow, even with real time checks disabled. Norton was much better and I would consider them too. But the Kapersky software is really very nice. Low on resources (so that my PC runs fast) and nice features for security.
