I am going to use this product along with a mini-notebook for an upcoming bicycle tour. The plugin USB GPS along with the updated mapping software will make an excellent guide, and an indispensible aid in travelling.
Installation is simple and easily done. I have had no problems zeroing in our my area.

I didn’t have immediate expectations of being fluent or even conversant in German from using this program (that will be a much longer journey) - so I am rather pleased so far. I can understand many of the criticisms.
This product immerses you virtually into the language learning process - via conversation.
The program installs easily, and activiation is simple for all 3 levels. There is a USB headset & micrphone included - not going to replace you highend gaming headset, but it does the job.

This is an excellent alternative for those people out there that do not know how to use FTP commands. :) A subscription is required for the person sending the file - which can be up to 2GB in size. The sender uploads the file through their simple interface, and then a link is sent to the recipient - who can securely download the attachments. The site is protected by 256 bit encryption, and they use their own compression algorithm.

Cosmetically, this version is not radically different from Outlook 2003 (which I upgraded from). The big different is the inclusion of Business Contact Manager - which for my needs proved to be a more than adequate contact manager - with a great level of detail.
SQL 2005 Express is installed in the background as the database engine for BCM. Be advised that you will have to setup a maintenance schedule within SQL 2005 Express to dump the DB, etc.

This is an excellent and useful product. I must admit, that I was very doubtful when I first gave this program a whirl, but I am a convert. Setup is fairly straight forward, but requires a bit of time for each user to set it up properly. The software must be trained properly to deal with each users voice. This is done by a number of different exercises and readings that you will be stepped through.

This is a very useful program for mapping and can be a very useful tool for anyone. The installation for me (on Vista Pro 32-bit) went easily, and without a hitch. I found the interface to be intuitive and easy to quickly learn.nFor most people, I think online maps would be an adequate choice over this (older) map set. If you are very very remote, and cannot connect to the grid, this would be indispensable.

This is an excellent app, that most likely far exceeds the needs of the average user who wants a simple paint program - or something a step up from MS Paint. More for a pro or semi-pro. It is feature rich, and very capable.

This is an easy to install and run accounting package for small businesses. It has all of the tools necessary to manage inventory, accounts (rec. & pay.), as well as payroll (for an ad-on monthly fee).
SQL 2005 is installed on the backend as the database. This wouldn’t be a good solution for larger shops that have database know-how, but is great for the non-techie.

This is a useful and inexpensive alternative to laying out $$ for a version of MS Office - and you can save all the various apps in MS Office compatible formats. If you are not going to shell out the $ for Office, why not just get OpenOffice for free?
