I had Kaspersky 2010 on both my computers when I installed Kaspersky Internet Security 2011 on them (with a license that had expired two days before I received 2011). Installing it on my desktop with Windows 7 took a total of 27 minutes, including rebooting as prompted after it was installed. On my laptop with Windows Vista on it, it took 15 minutes including rebooting. It was a fairly easy process. It hung up a couple times making me wonder if it was stuck, but then it would move on. They made a couple changes, but overall 2011 feels like 2010 and that is a good thing for me because I don’t like a lot of changes when I already like something and I’m used to it’s format.nI feel pretty secure when Kaspersky is on my computer. I have tried other programs and came back to Kaspersky because others either locked up my computer or made it run impossibly slow. I don’t have those issues with Kaspersky.nI think for the price that this program is they could include a detailed manual with it instead of just a tiny quick start guide that doesn’t really tell you much about installing or really guide you through it. There is an electronic one on the disk, but that isn’t the same as having a manual you can flip through and read nor is it as convenient. My main suggestion for improvement is including a detailed printed manual aimed at the novice perspective so it makes running the program and understanding it easier. It would be nice to include an overview of what it’s protecting you against too and how you’ll know you are really being protected from it and include general pointers on being secure on the Internet. For most people Internet Security is just a leap of faith that the product they buy is doing what it’s supposed to.

Pay attention when installing it because there is a spot that asks for your permission to be in a program that collects data from your computer to send to Kaspersky called the Kaspersky Security Network. Read what it’s about and make the decision yourself on whether you want to participate. It gets easy when installing just to hit next next next, but that’s one you should pay attention to.nThe card you’ll need for activating is inside the sleeve with the disk.
