Review by Bill Oterson
Right from the start, I’ve little to no prior experience with Pinnacle Studio or any other video editing software. And although I’ve been photographing for a long while I’ve only recently decided to try video making. Specifically, my interest is in 360 degree videos and although I’ve a camera that does video I’ve been experimenting with ‘Ricoh Theta S’ and ‘Kodak’ cameras, too, so I was delighted at the opportunity to acquire ‘Pinnacle Studio 20 Ultimate’.
I’ve a relatively new Acer PC running Win 10 and this program downloaded without any difficulty, at all. There was an update that also downloaded easily and I’ve been acquainting myself with the program for only a couple days.
Of course, this isn’t the only vid editing program but it’s parent is Corel and, on the web, it’s gotten good reviews. And this program has a ton of included add-ons and a lot of features, such as stop motion animation, motion tracking (face or object), mosaic blur and transparency control. But what I really appreciate is that it’s user friendly. I find the controls to be fluid and intuitive and there are a lot of tutorials to be seen on ‘youtube’, too. I’ve followed a couple without any problems. There is a rather steep learning curve with Pinnacle Studio 20 Ultimate, though, especially for the beginner, and, I expect it’ll be a while before I’m uploading any videos.
