VIPRE anti- virus and anti- spyware software is a very good product for general pc protection and I have grown to like this product more and more each day. I had been using TrendMicro software for protection purposes and it performed well. But now that I have grown to know VIPRE, it has become my anti- virus software of choice.

What makes VIPRE so special? Well, there are several things that make this product stand out in the pack. Not only is it very quick and simple to install, it also offers unlimited home site license, anti- malware technology, and free tech support by either phone, e-mail, or live chat. And best of all, it uses only 67mb of memory to function. This is much less than my previous anti- virus software and this reason alone makes VIPRE a product worth trying.

Speaking specifically about speed, this is one of the most important qualities with anti- virus software. Many of them- including my TrendMicro- require far too many resources from your pc and really slow down other functions. It reached a point in the past where I would give up trying to use my pc while the anti- virus was running a scan. The frustration level would get too high. But this problem seems to have vanished with VIPRE. I can barely tell that a scan is running and I can continue with my internet as usual while it scans in the background.

VIPRE is also very good at detecting viruses and spyware. I didn’t have any issues on my first few scans, but then a curious thing happened one day. Out of nowhere, I received a message supposedly from Microsoft, stating that it had completed a scan of my pc and detected a Trojan. I was skeptical, so I pulled up VIPRE and ran a scan. It turns out that this message was bogus: VIPRE correctly identified the message, the sender, and the Trojan threat as a virus! It was posing as Microsoft hoping that I would give in and accept its diagnosis as true. I’m not so sure that my previous anti- virus products would have caught this.

Many good anti- virus and anti- spyware products exist, but VIPRE is the best one I have used so far. I like it better than TrendMicro and McAfee both for protection and for speed. It doesn’t slow you down and offers excellent protection against harmful pc threats, making it a product worthy of an easy recommendation.
