I’ve always found Roxio the most straightforward digital media product, but Creator NXT 3 is a little buggy with installation. It does come with an installation DVD ROM but not any supporting or instructional inserts (I always wonder why they waste such a big box for one disc). Once you install the product, you can download the pdf user guide. By buggy on installation, I mean slow. Like 15 minutes worth of slow and areas of getting hung up it seemed. I think NXT 2 installed quickly if I remember correctly. After installation and registration, go immediately to setting and turn off the ad nonsense - it’s quite annoying.
If you used Roxio before, the operation will be a no-brainer. Roxio tends to work intuitively and this version does as well. I did have one crash while assembling/editing a clip but just the one. Still, that may be cause for concern over the long term.
The features in this suite are pretty good but for basic, non-HD media (you can use one of the Corel suites for HD). You can now capture/record directly from your computer screen with Live Screen Capture and share directly to social media like Facebook and Youtube. There’s also a nice photo component for photo editing and manipulation and an easy way to create image slide shows with a soundtrack.
I would read all of the reviews before purchasing this product since the spectrum of opinions is so varied.
I don’t think this is a huge upgrade from NXT 2 but there are some nice new features.
