My experience with this product is primarily on iPod Touch devices. In total, I’ve installed the Hotspot Privacy on three iPod Touch devices. The install is really simple: just download and run the program, then follow the onscreen prompts. After completion the Settings app will have an additional option to turn on/off VPN.

Typically this product would be utilized to obtain a secure connection, although through my experience it appears to include an additional benefit. For reasons beyond my understanding, I’ve actually encountered better network performance with the VPN on in many cases. On one trip in particular that I went on, everybody in my group was able to log onto a hotel’s network but were unable to use the internet. Once I turned the VPN on I was able to use the internet, while the remainder of my group was still unable to use it.

In summary, this product is easy to install and use and may, as in my case, actually improve your overall network performance in some scenarios.
