Happy with this transition. I did not encounter any installation problem at all. It took about 30 to 45 minutes. All my data are intact. Need to remember that it requires you to have at least 2 gigs of RAM - one thing that I forgot so I have to redo it until my additional memory came in from the mail.
It makes working on apps more snappy. Additional space is a much appreciated bonus. It freed up some gigs in my meager 80 gigs of hard drive memory.
One of the most useful features of the latest versions of the Mac OS is Time Machine. This makes backing up which used to be a painful process a much better experience. It is also significantly faster than the previous version that came with the OS. Stacks is fun, but not very useful to me.
The new Quicktime will now allow you to record as well as edit videos which previously available only on the paid version. You can now make your own tutorial videos as it can record the screen and use an external or built-in microphone.
Moving up from Leopard seems not as big of a difference; but moving up from Tiger…
