I’m really impressed with the new Corel Painter Essentials 5 software, I’ve been trying it out for the past 30 days. This is the first time for me using it, but I’ve been using similar graphics programs for a number of years now. A lot of them have been Corel products, so there hasn’t been too steep a learning curve with my getting started with this software. In fact, it’s has some similarities with another program that I use - PD Particles. Plus, there is a feature that remind me a lot of the tubes brushes in Paint Shop Pro. But there are a lot of differences and additional features too. I like Painter Essentials particle brushes as well as the FX brushes. I found it very easy to paint a nice fur texture.

This would make for a great introductory graphics program as well as for someone professional. Personally as someone who does digital graphics I think this software is a very good deal.
