I had been a loyal Norton user but when I was not allowed to re-load my newly purchased Norton anti-virus program after my computer crashed I swore off Norton forever. I compared many different anti-virus programs mainly by reading the articles in PC World Magazine which I subscribe too. It highly rated Kaspersky and I was lucky to find Kaspersky 2009 at a greatly reduced price at a local discount store.
It loaded easily, and so far has detected many trojans and other potentially harmful viruses and I feel as if my PC (windows XP) is about as well protected as it can possibly be at this time. My license will expire soon and I discovered that the renewal fee is more than I want to pay so I re-bought this from Amazon’s Gold Box deal and will uninstall the previous Kaspersky when it expires and install the new one.
It took some time to for me to adjust to the Kaspersky program from being so used to the Norton program, but I really like how the Kaspersky constantly updates it’s malware, phishing sites, and malicious scripts on a minute to minute basis. As soon as an update is available it automatically downloads it. I have no complaints so far concerning this program. My computer has not had any problems nor crashed since I’ve started using it.
