For months Ive been plagued by Adware that I could not figure where it was coming from. Norton 360 Premier was also unable to find it. Kaspersky Internet Security found the two Adware rascals on the first scan and removed them. All I can say is Kill, Kill, Kill stupid Adware, Yehaa. OK that was childish, but I was happy to get rid of the Adware Ive spent several hours trying to identify over the last few months. I should say that Ive identified and removed Adware and viruses that AV software did not find before. It can be done but not always.
I got the Kaspersky Internet Security just in time for my Norton 360 Premier to expire. I’ve used a lot of different AV software including various editions of Kaspersky, ESET, Trend Micro, Webroot, Norton, BitDefender, McAfee, AVG, MalwareBytes, etc. My overall impression is that in general ESET, Norton/Symantec, and Kaspersky are the most effective. However, Norton is very intrusive and Ive had issues with Norton slowing things down. My impression is also backed up studies made by the Anti-Virus Bulletin Board. My favorite AV software is probably ESET, it is extremely effective, but ESET NOD32 version 5 was messing up Microsoft Outlook 2013 because of some faulty COM components. Since Ive only had good experience with this Kaspersky Internet Security it is pretty close to being my favorite.
Installing Kaspersky Internet Security was fairly straightforward but I had to uninstall Norton 360 and I not fond of having to type in the Activation code after installation. I know it is a common practice, but how about checking that code is valid before you install so you don’t have to go through an uninstall if it fails. A full scan takes a long time but it is very effective. ESET has the same problem, but there is a reason why they are the best ones in finding malware.
Kaspersky Internet Security has a lot of interesting features including the Secure Keyboard, Safe Money, and parental control. Even though I don’t use these features very often these features is a plus. The GUI is nice looking, streamlined and very easy to use. Kaspersky remains one of my favorite AV software apps.
