While the Instant Immersion people compare their product to Rosetta Stone, this is in a different class and can’t really be compared head-to-head. However, it is so much less expensive that it’s a fantastic bargain. It does cover the basics and if you’re going on a trip in the next few months, this is the program I’d use. It has multiple ways to learn, including puzzles and games. The production quality is high, and there’s a lot of material. That said, there’s no grammar manuals or other written reference materials. That means that this is focused on spoken Spanish. If that’s what you’re interested in, then this would be a bargain at twice the price.
