I’ve used the 2010 and 2011 versions of McAfee’s security suites and wasn’t impressed; bogged down the systems after awhile. My Norton 360 had just expired on my home PCs ( a Dell XPS with Windows 7 in my study, and a Dell 8400 running Windows XP in the guest room) so I gave this McAfee LiveSafe a try. Installation was straightforward using the code inside the package to download from the McAfee site. Took about 15 minutes for installation. Setup was simple and McAfee runs unobtrusively in the background. Also installed on my HTC One Android phone easily. No problems so far after two months. My only concern is that after each Windows automatic update, the PCs slow down a bit but NOT solely due to McAfee; that happens with all brands of security suites after Windows updates. Removing temporary files and defragmenting improves speeds a bit. This McAfee free trial is for one year so I’ll consider renewal if the price is reasonable.
