Item: WordPerfect Office X7 Standard version.nThis software is a great alternative to Microsoft Office WORD. I’ve used versions of Corel’s WordPerfect many times in the past. I’ve mainly worked with MS Word the last few years because it’s commonly used in the workplace. But after using this new version of WordPerfect, I really enjoyed working with Corel’s new WordPerfect version. I’m running this software on a Windows 8.1 machine with 12 GB of RAM. In addition to WordPerfect, you get Roxio Secure Burn and additional clipart, photos, and a PDF catalog of fonts. The installation took about 3 minutes to install WP, about 1 minute for Roxio, and 1 minute for the clipart and fonts.
Components: WordPerfect (like MS Word, a word-processing program), Quattro Pro (like Excel, spreadsheets), Presentations (like Powerpoint, presentations), and WP Lightning which allows note-taking, viewing WPD’s (WordPerfect Documents) and MS Word files.nYou can also search within WP Office files by installing one of the features (set to install by default).
Interface: It’s a clean interface. Everything is easy to find. It’s the same old similar interface from years before, not like the ribbon interface of the new MS Office. Everything works smoothly, from viewing, editing, and publishing PDF’s to mail merges. You can also create XML documents. Having the ability to import PDF’s and have them converted into editable documents is a great feature. Then you can publish documents into the PDF format.
Reliability: All three program ran flawlessly. Each one is just slightly different than its MS Office counterpart, so there is a small learning curve, but these programs are excellent for accomplishing everything that the MS Office programs can do.
Features: Built-in PDF tools (this is very helpful), dual-monitor support, Create fillable PDF forms, enhanced Mail Merge Expert. Also included is Roxio Secure Burn which is a CD/DVD/Blu-ray burning software. The Roxio software functions very well and without errors.
System Requirements: Preferably you want to use Windows 8⁄8.1, or Windows 7 (32-bit or 64-bit). You can use Win XP (32-bit), but don’t expect it to run smoothly as it would on 7 or 8⁄8.1. You also should have at least 1 GB of RAM to run smoothly. It says only 256 MB is required, but most computers nowadays should have 1 GB minimum anyway. You don’t want these programs dragging.
